Try all the different bikes you possibly can and ride them with confidence. Size and upper body strength have nothing to do with being able to ride a modern bike. You are young and can easily adapt to ANY size bike. Please dont let seat height and weight put you off. Most of all...Have fun test riding!
Hey Kel, I'm not worried at all about RIDING the bike or tippy toeing at lights I'll be riding in a lot of places I don't know and usually by myself... So I want to know that if I go to turn around on a gravel driveway, I'm not going to drop it. I know by experience that if I drop a bike on a downwards slope with the tank facing down... I'm stuck it's physically impossible for me to pick that bike up. Even using all the techniques there are.
Also if I can't get both the balls of my feet on the ground at the same time, I feel very uncomfortable and unconfident whilst moving it around, even in the garage.

No it's not tho. It may cause a few more scratches but you can turn it round and use the slope to your advantage. Better still...keep it balanced in the first place! You DID learn something from that drop at Waiketi....have you done it again??

That's when you get off and move it around by walking next to it. Its easy! Like I say...you're young and adapting is easy. Trust yourself! I've seen you on the track and you have great skills!! Tell yourself you can and you will.

It can be lowered, but i think you would be better off just getting used to it. You will have to sooner or later so why not now?

My wife & I both have the 636, they are light & very easy to manouvre. I'm a short arse & have no problems. I also know of 1 or 2 that might be for sale.

Aww thanks Kel I guess I just really don't have a lot of confidence when it comes to moving bigger bikes around. I'm totally not fussed about the riding part lol, although I will be a lil nervous on the test rides seeing as how I don't own the bike!

You could have had my 636 for that.

At the moment I wouldn't sell the grey ghost for all the money in the world

    Update:

Aaron and I went up to Auckland today to look at different bikes, here's a quick review of what I found

07 CBR: Very tall and top heavy bike, didn't take it out for a test ride as it really really daunted me with it's size! I was doing well to even tippy toe both feet... Had to kind of swap a bit and do one foot on the balls of my foot.

Er6-n: I could touch the ground comfortably, but I didn't particularly like the upright seating position.

SV650: I was quite surprised with this bike. I thought it would be about the same height as the ER6, but it was quite noticeably taller... Or so I found.

07 R6: Same thing with the CBR, sat on it in the shop and was like no way. Both the CBR and R6 would still be incredibly tall for me even after some lowering.

04 ZXR.. Again, I found this bike very tall to the point I didn't ride it.

05 ZXR... I found this bike to be the best out of the above 4, but it was still very tall for me. It might of been ok with some lowering... but I wouldn't of had much confidence in it... Or at least, not for a very long time.

'07 GSXR: I sat on it and instantly I felt like I was home. I can almost flat foot this bike, I feel safe and secure on it and I don't feel like I'm going to drop it, even on kind of un-even surfaces! I took it for a test ride and it fits really nicely, it rides really smooth and the pipes it sounds like it's growling

So I've made up my mind and now all I gotta do is wait for the right bike to come up for sale
