    On a side note

i just been going thru my fuel receipts

Total milage was around 4700 (according to my speedo)
and cost just over $510 in fuel for the 600 thru out this trip. (full up as leaving tauranga and full up returning to tauranga)

Most expensive fuel is Franz Josef @ 1.98 for 91
Average fuel for whole trip is @ 1.811 for 91

Cool pics, awesome(only word for it)views on gondola, still pics don't do it justice,we had beaut weather up there and pics on disc are damn good.

Hope to get down again next year or next year after or after,March seems ideal,no snow,or frosts, and daylight saving still.

Difficult to weigh up options at times,i.e the cheaper flights make road travel sometimes as expensive with accomodation etc.We had only from wed to mon to get down and back so flying was the go,damn good views though through chch to queenstown, drove back to chch on return and flew back to palmy. The weather makes or breaks the trip,we had one night which nearly had a frost.

Wow, that was an impressive write-up, what a trip to remember! Thanks for sharing it with us. Photos are great - don't we live in a beautiful country. The stone church is the Church of the Good Shepherd. Can't believe you ate that bug - lol. You can't buy experiences like that ~
