    Racing classes/rules?

    Hello!

I'm trying to get my head around the rules for racing.
What rules do I have to read for VMCC clubmans when it comes to modification of the bike?
Say I have a carbon front mudgard. In MNZ's rules I can read it's not allowed to have carbon fiber on the bike (except for reinforcements and such). Does this apply to clubmans?

What's the big difference between Production Superbike and F1?

I have not clue about all this. Is there a site with an overview of the classes/rules etc?

    Sorry for the nobee questions!

Clubmans you may run a full MotoGP 990cc bike if you so desire. If you're too fast, you'll have to step up to F1 though, and you can't run a MotoGP bike at national level.
I believe F1 (club level) is run what you brung, whereas the rules on the MNZ website define production superbike (national level).

Ok, so that's pretty straight forward then!
So all I do is make sure to lock wire the bike, point all the drains to a catch bottle and off I go?
I was afraid I had to go through the bike and figure out what's OEM and not.

Oh, and I'm not too worried about going too fast at this point. My first goal is to actually manage to show up on the start grid and finish a race, haha

    Thanks!

The only real way to know is contact the Victoria motorcycle club and ask for a copy of their supplementary regs for the Actrix series. You can contact them at vicclub.co.nz

And (if your bike is watercooled) don't forget to remove all glycol coolant and replace with non-glycol stuff or even just water.

    2008 Road racing Rounds

I have to say i really enjoyed the Road racing Rounds this year.
I think MNZ are putting on a good show.
Getting riders from Aussie and the USA like we had this year was a good thing.
    F2 was great.
    F3 I enjoyed.
I reckon a big field of motards is good as well, I prefer seeing them all together not mixed in.
As far as BEARS, good on them as well.
Motorcycling is a small enough sport without infighting.
Look at Speedway, solo bikes had a falling out long ago, now the solo scene is tiny.
I always thought that if MNZ could run a few races at the big car meeting safely it would be a good way to get the sport in front of larger crowds.
Also means you piggie back on TV coverage etc.
    Anyhow, cheers.

Ah, yes, good point, I have a bottle of this 'Water Wetter' I intend to use.
I read it can cool down the engine quite a bit, so I'll do some reading/research before I use it to see if it make sense to use in my bike.

    1098

Is the Ducati 1098 allowed to compete in any national class this year or are they limited to clubracing?

No I don't believe it is legal for superbikes yet. If you asked I wouldn't be surprised if MNZ changed the rules to allow up to 1100cc twins though. They changed the supersport rule to accomodate the 675 Triumph easily enough.

There was guy racing one in clubmans down at Teretonga. Man they are sexy, just the front brake setup alone was enough to make me

The appearance from front, rear and the profile of Production Superbike motorcycles must (except
when otherwise stated) conform to the homologated shape (as originally produced by the
    manufacturer).
    1 Capacity
    700cc ñ Open 4-stroke 3 & 4 Cylinder
    800cc ñ Open 4-stroke Twin Cylinder

According to above(from MNZ Appendix C) the only restriction is minimum cc rating.
