Gmail forgets me

Anybody have any idea why Gmail often forgets me, and requires me to log in manually? Seems like the cookie is getting eaten.
This does not happen with KB, tardme or several other sites I venture in to; only Gmail.

I've seen this crop up on occasion as well, dunno what the story is. Perhaps something to do with Gmail account not just being Gmail -- but your entire Google account. I've accidentally logged out of Google Notes without thinking, fer'instance, and then when I go to launch Gmail it asks me for a password.

Anyhow it's not an issue for me, as I launch my browser by clicking on the checkgmail icon (it's a Gmail notifier program) that sits in my system tray. Launches Firefox with Gmail automatically logged in and ready to go for me. Easy workaround if you like email notification sort of programs.
