Will KK Fall off within first 10 track days

Who thinks *when i do finally get out there* i will arse-off within the first 10 track days/races?

Intersting topic as everyone seems to say definatly, and not just because its me, but because it happens etc, yet my old man has faith :S -he honestly doesnt think you have to crash to be good etc, having run in F3 centuries ago and never crashing... (apparently he only ever ran off puke's hairpin once thinking he was playing braking games, then to jsut ride back onto the track)

Lemmesee... race bike maintained with a power drill, hammer and fencing pliers. Tyres only 20 years old, and with the odd patch of rubber showing around the canvas...

WHY would anyone think you are likely to step off, KK??????????

KK You are asking us all to state the bloody obvious!!!!!!!     I voted you would and that it would be your fault beacause it is never the bikes fault!!!

Even if something (like say a handlebar for example ) falls off it is not the fault of the bike, it is the riders fault for not checking it.

If you understood the value of good tyres I would have considered voting differently................ BUT you don't

I just hope you don't go hurting your pip squeek little ass

am I mistaken in thinking that this poll is pointless given that you've already binned your ZXR400 on the jennian homes sweeper!?

hence thd dodgy handlebar... and discussion about shagged tyres... and goodness knows how many other comments concerned with your lack of regard for the condition of your machinery??

Sorry kk I'm with the duke, besides if you talk to any serious racer falling off is part of the learning curve. To paraphrase Aaron Slight - if you never fall off you don't push hard enough, if you fall off too much you are pushing to hard. Sorry not a direct quote but something similar was in his book "You don't know the half of it".

so if you don't go down as a rookie due to dodgy tires, you probably will as a result of a rub. Get used to the idea before you go out thenyou will only end up with broken bones not a broken spirit. I have only ever raced pushbike (ten years and 50kg ago), But going down is a fact of racing when you have that many tetosterone powered males around. Your best bet is to hope you have more wins than bins!

Fark it your there to have fun, if your worrying about binning it you will, if you want to win more than you fear binning it you will.

Well thats my 2c worth, fully recommend Slights book Waitakere library has a copy or two. It's a good read with lots of psycology/strategy type stuff.

Thanks for that bigdog.. and i do have faith in myself and if i do come off too bad, - ill just take the abuse from my old man

and mitch, is it still the riders fault even if he did check the handle bar? (regardless of weather it was cracked or not :P)

Why is KK asking us this question when he has yet to convince us he'll even get ON the track.

Like ive been saying for months.. SEPTEMBER 14 I AM AIMING for to go to Tracktime - a good excuse to run in slow novice class and literally humm around hte track slowly because bike hasnt been run in yonks/ivenever ridin it b4.. then later in day ill stick race muffler on etc make some small mods and check difference in feel.

aiight    but now its gunna b a rush to get her out there by then, my goals are not quite being achieved and so now i wont have front fairing mounted, however i have compramised that for replacing needed brakepads and braided lines.  So i am thinking a little more saftey then usual also the front tyre has an egg in one side, but i dont have time to change that.. ill just take the left handers a little easy

Correct me if I'm wrong but Tracktime isn't racing.

And that is what the poll is about, isn't it?

haha dave u smartarse :P jhehee

and i know tracktime isnt racing - but as poll says, race/trackdays, this bike is for fun, half the fun is in doing the work on it,  i spend every hour i can/my mind can handle b4 i get frustrated, on it, and im loving it, and once its done, i may just keep taking it to $80 open/practise days if thats all im good enuf for.. it will still be fun, and im even buying a VFR400 street, which i will get good at stripping fast, and give to my dad for track days so me and him can have heaps of fun, that is my main main main dream above all to oneday be out there on the track alongside (or behind as it will be) my old man.  But you guys/randomers will do as fill-ins
