Not an option as the pipes are a bit thin....Originally Posted by celticno6

Thats what I was gunna do... a nice chrome single pipe just to confuse more people as to what it was!Originally Posted by aff-man

Also, as expected, everyone who *doesn't* have to pay the cash out of their own pockets thinks that the shiny one is best...
I grilled the man at Vic Wreckers on this point, and he has assured me on the honour of his dead relatives, and even the ones who are just a bit sick, that it is mechanically tiptop.Originally Posted by firestormer
The current pipes are not chromed, and are therefore insufficiently pretty for my exacting requirements. And see Blakamin's comments re. industrial build quality of the existing mufflage.

But in the end, it's just another 250cc commuter, isn't it? I just can't bring myself to spend more time or dollars on it than I have to, although I'll do whatever's needed to get it in proper condition. Cosmetics and sound are near the bottom of the list, though. The only real reason I'm buying another zorst for the thing is so that I can consign Blakamin's, er, 'special' mufflers to a well-deserved resting place...![]()

yup...they'd look good at the tip...or in a museum for "ingenuity in the face of no $$$" (was seriously broke when I did them)
or keep them for a zeal owner that might need them one day!
well it might cost less to customise. And a louder bike is safer cause people hear you coming heheheOriginally Posted by jrandom

Non of them. Get a two into one adapter made up and buy a cheap as chips after market dunstall replica or reverse cone muffler. WFO have a good selection to choose from and any good bike shop should be able to aquire them.
Chroo, indeed. I'm just being lazy and grumpy and buying something that I *know* will fit and do the trick.Originally Posted by aff-man
Hey, it's only $200. If I have the leisure and cash at any future point, I might have a poke around for a sexy single can... I'll feel better about doing that now that I've bought a banged-up stock set, you see.![]()

Ah yes. Well, I work just around the corner, so I'll wander by and have a look sometime. Er... do you want the old exhaust system once it's off, then? Better than nothing if another Zeal owner ever needs something that works.Originally Posted by NZ CRF230F Ride
One of the guys at work has just got his TIG welding cert and is going to buy a welder, so perhaps I'll test his mad pipe-welding skillz once he gets set up at home. I could have different exhausts for different days of the week... bit of quick bolting and unbolting, and I'll have a note to match my mood.

And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
