I don't like bad mouthing other products, but I have owned an Arai before the HJC. And without a doubt the ARAI would have to be the biggest waste of $800 I have ever parted with.
It was the worst fitting helmet I had ever bought. Also the noisiest. Couldn't get rid of it quick enough lost $350 on it.

The HJC fits my head perfect. So once I get this visor thing sorted. I will keep it for three yeas. Then I will replace it with a similar helmet..

yeah it really does come down to your head shape, i have been wearing arai helmets since i was 8 im on my 12th... i think my head has moulded to the helmet! Also if your gonna buy one its better to go the hole hog and get the rx7, i have a quantum or something just cause i wanted the crafar rep but my rx7s are much better.

I talked my old man into gettin one but he was not that impressed either complaining about the noise, but then again he is old! haha he now wants one of those shuber*$%( somethings....

Hi Choppa, been there done that, your right they don't fog up with the pin lock. But they do condensate up big time.

I think we are getting a wee bit of track here. I want to be able to keep my visor on one or two clicks. So as to keep an air supply (good band) getting through on a stinking hot day. Rather than slamming shut in my face. and vice verso for the winter months when fogged up and condensate is a real problem.

I am trying the soap trick. Keeps the fog at bay but not the condensate. Only fresh air will get rid of it.

2 years old--if its a recent thing the slamming down then you might want to see if you can buy a replacement ratchet kit.
-as someone else has said--is the tension on the ratchet mechanism adjustable?-maybee moving both sides 1-2mmm forwards will solve the problem
