Goodbye Woody 8%. You have been a friend but goodbye

Australia's major alcohol producers have reacted to community concern about ready-to-drink (RTD) products by dumping those with high alcohol content and energy additives.
What happens in aussie usually happens here too. So long to party nights with cans of 8% or 12% RTDs...

Another case(pardon the pun)of our nanny state telling us what is ok to drink.

Surely mature people can work that out, sure kids can at times binge on these drinks, but what's different from 20yrs ago when we used to drink beer till we puked, only difference is these high alcohol drinks require less to get pissed.

Never been much of a drinker of brown spirits, so it's not going to bother me. That said, I don't usually bother with RTDs anyway, just a handy bottle of Bombay Sapphire, a couple of fresh limes, and a chilled bottle of lemonade. Ah, drunken-ness in style

Spuds, what you doing tonight then eh?

No more 8% premix??! Oh no! You'll have to mix it yourself and actually learn to pour a proper measure!

RTD's are for girls. Just do what I do: make up 1 drink with plenty of mixer and as you drink it down keep topping it up with your chosen poison. Makes a bottle of OJ/Coke/whatever last days

I actually wonder who the nannys' are to be honest.

What is wrong with lowering the impact caused by alcohol...do you have to get pissed to have a good time..."No"...I have a good time just drinking coke.

It is not telling you what you can and cannot drink...it is just taking a 'big picture' responsibility...you never know...it might saves a few lives.

People smoke regardless of the warnings and you have the choice of low tar ciggies...so what is wrong with having low 'drunkedness' beer...

More important things to worry about...

But at least I still respect my parents,(not govt),mind you we were given a free reign as teenagers, never got into much trouble(no court hearings or records),but can recall hopping on a bike with no helmet and rider was reasonably sober,I was reasonably pissed, thought next day you dick for doing it.We were invited to partake with parents at new years or family get togethers to drink socially and to act responsible with it.
