bike was at 'owners' house when it was stolen, so was quite handy in that sense.

A cheap ($6k) late model (if possible) 1000cc or greater fairinged bike.
Keep a eye out for a private sale Suzuki GS1200ss (hopefully with the full Yoshi system or a can). 2002-2004 years, Private for $6k with under 20 on the clock.
Utterly reliable, grunty-as, and they make a good high speed tourer (mine did!).
