    AUCKLAND CITY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE!!!!!

    In the Herald.

Auckland city is scheduled to close by the end of 2005 as the noise from the city is itself reaching levels to high for the safety of its citizens.
Councilors meet yesterday and came to the conclusion that if the city cannot guarantee not to eceed 0.01 decibels then the city would have to close.
Right honorable mayor Mr Hubbard is continuing his campaign to encourage Aucklanders to wake up and be still!! Mr Hubbard "its just not right that a large number of people can enjoy themselves at the detriment of a few, we need to all be quiter in our cities approach to events and the way we live, for example I myself have banned children from my home due to the noise they make and will be taking a wider few of this policy in the coming months for the city".

    The story goes on...................

Oh my god what a bunch of mindless dickheads you have up there
I heard on the radio that western springs is now shut due to a band of selffish do gooders with no life. Western springs is a international Icon in the speedway world and because a few neighbours who brought there houses next to a speedway decided they dont want it there.
V8's are gone, whats next ? are we truly wanting to close every public event that is deemed to be noisey even if that event is very in frequent (every Sat night is infrequent in my few 1 night a week if that)
NZ is becoming a boring place with these soughts of moves and its not bloody on!!

Oh and dick Hubbard you are aptly named "DICK" and your serial is banned from my home ya tosser

thats my gripe for the day
Ive run out of fucks to give

Right anyone with a quiet bike is hereby ordered to go out and get a new set of pipes. Then we need to start all rides from Dick Hubbard's house (anyone know where it is?). Rides will no longer be scheduled for 9.30am starts. Instead we will have several scheduled start times, i.e 1am, 2am, 3am, a gap to lull him into a false sense of security, then 4.30am, 5.00am etc. Burnouts are highly encouraged.

hey guys n gals heres a different viewpoint on things.
MNZ rules say -a motorcycle may not exceed 95 dba -responsibility for that noise level is up to the rider but will be policed.
The speedway drivers have the same rule--its been there for years.
Start of season the DBA meter comes out and the cars are checked.
yea then the guys start ripping out disks from their supertraps to get a better exhaust flow --or the quieter muffler comes off to be replaced by one looking the same but with no innards.
I ain't arguing for a second that 30 people out of 35000 in the local area are right . I agree they moved next to the speedway not vicey vercy
But shit if the noise meter was used at every meeting i bet there would be a shit load less complaints. -For that matter a shit load less to complain about.
Also no real attempt has been made by the landlord--Auckland city Council to look for alternatives--noise sheilding on the hill to replace the pine trees the council cut down etc
-I'm not one of those wingers BTW just hearing it from a different prospective.

Thats it i'm taking the baffles out of the duc. It's a protest thing now. They closed down forrest lake hamilton ,bay park MT maunganui, stopped the V8 street race when will it end. If your not into motor sport don't buy a house next to the track.People should be vetted to see if they are worthy to be neighbors of the race tracks.

Im very sorry Riff Raff a Disobeidiant girl can often be better than a disobeidiant boy anyhow.
Did I tell you I met Mr Riff Raff himself recently in Hamilton? bloody nice bloke, it was at the unveiling of the statue in his honor as rocky horror was written here.
I got myself into the VIP party (as a barman) but got in none the less.

I would have liked to have come down for the unveiling, but alas I was working. It was good of them to do it the day before my birthday tho, made me feel special. I'm planning on riding to Hamilton sometime soon so I can get a piccie of me and the statue.

I think it's more that Marxist dickwad Hucker who's the culprit than Dickie boy who is just..well...bewildered.....

Western Springs has been there for more years than I can remember and has always had noisy motorsport. The reason for the noise becoming an issue is real simple: demographics. There's still a lot of "State housing" around there but generally the area has become more "gentrified" these days with values going up in line with surrounding areas like Grey Lynn and Point Chev and Westmere where you can fork out half a million$ plus for a tired old bungalow. So now you've got yuppies (or dinkies or muffies or whatever the fuck the current acronym for affluent young professionals is) living where it used to be very blue collar..and blue collar people are more tolerant of the sound of noisy motorsport and the smell of racing fuel than the latte-sipping pooftas who are the current source of whinging about the noise. These pricks are also better at organising themselves as a lobby group. It's PATHETIC. IT'S CONTEMPTIBLE .I HATE IT. WHERE'S THE DEMOCRACY IN IT???
