[DIY Tutorial] Make your own key for your bike!!

i have made the "Screw driver key" for my ride, see what will you guys got for your bike

this is my second time since i had made one for my girl friend as her birthday gift last year which called "the jack head":

and i made one for myself this year as to celebrate that i "legally" can throw my L plate away

first of all, you'll have to get the "key knob material", dont know what will you guys choose, i ordered a stubby screw driver from trademe which cost me $1.25+shipping, anything that your key can fit will work (eg. i twisted the head of a plastic doll to make it "Jack Head")

other tools you may need: a saw or saw blade, sand paper, pliers & tongs, a hammer, a key ring & chain, and a hook with whorl that can be screwed into hard surface, also a hot melt glue gun:

then we can start workin on it, now take the part you need, for my case, i teared the stick out from the screw driver:

next step is to cut the unnecessary part of the key off (depanding on what knob are you trying to fit the key in, i did nothing to the key in Jack's case):

Then, dig the key into the knob and see whether its fit, if not....cut some more off, use the glue gun nicely to fill up the empty:

...after it dries off, carefully cut the overflow part and sand it till it looks like:

we'r almost done now, screw the hook in to the knob:

and you'll probably need a super glue:

As to my self, i was using a key chain from the key ring that im about to throw into my bin:

    and then.....we'r done:

    Thank you very much

Awesome, be prepared to be pulled over frequently though.

    Good work

    Your obiviously an ideas man.

    Nice pics too.

Back in the day me n my mates used to find stuff to make into gearshift knobs.

Best I saw was a mate taxidermied a rat and mounted it with the stick up its ass in his Hillman Hunter.

Had the tail wound around the gearstick

Wired some lights so the eyes glowed red.

    Freaked the chicks out.

How about skipping the finesse and using the old approved method:

Stubby screwdriver + hammer = multipurpose key that'll fit just about anything.

It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

Wow. Really impressive. You could probably use something that looked a lot more dodgy than a screwdriver handle if you wanted to get into the "novelty" line..... Seriously though, what a cool idea - you'd recognise your keys instantly in amongst all the others!
