    Quickest way from taupo to waihi

    anyone know the best way to waihi from taupo... in a van :confused2
    I'm leaving at midnight so should be in taupo by 3.30 -4am... then whats the best route coz i gotta be there at 8am but want some sleep before I turn around and come back!

    Okay I know how I would get there but to explain it ummm well.
    leave taupo go up state one to Putaruru head north up 27 up as far as tahuna, turn right to Paeroa, through Karangahape gorge then to Wahi, make sence, follow it on a map, but that would be the best I can think of

    Cool... thanks Quasie, had to decide that way or rotorua/tauranga
    Have to pick up some extremely fragile chromed plastic for a couple of jukeboxes

    the other way is alot better than than rotorua/tauranga, you are looking at a good 270ish from taupo to waihi instead of there way which is 209. and SH1, so more lax out, give us a bell if you gonna be in tauranga for long , thats during normal daylight hours of course

    UPDATE... leaving here at 8 am so I might be able to catch up with you for lunch Cajun??

    Bits wont be ready until tomorrow afternoon.... at least I'll be able to see some sights!
