I simply asked to advance to a full licence immediately.

I put it that the GDLS conditions didn't suit regular open road distance riding (which I planned to do lots of). I argued that with my clean record, experience in cages and deliberate approach to motorcycle training, that there would be no significant increased risk to me or other road users if the exemption was granted.

The exemption was a 1-shot chance to immediately do my full test (I was half way though learners at the time). Also the 70k limit was exempted for the purposes of the test. If I failed then I would have to complete the whole graduated scheme. My test had to be taken within three weeks. Through a stroke of luck I got it booked for the very next day. On the day the examiner stopped the test after 30mins citing that it would have been pointless to continue. My riding and situational awareness were sound and he issued the full.

Now I feel a sense of duty to prove that this exemption was justified by not #@$%ing up.

Just thought I'd add to mowgli's blurb about his bike... it is a good'un. Well looked after, it was always presented clean and tidy. If you are after a second-hand GT250R, this is an excellent bike... Cheers DJ

i like em naked llol, well you can always put some on it ie:belly pan ,screen, radiator shrouds ,they scrub up pretty good .

but the pipes are enough to compensate for that and she is a very good buy at $7300 (ONO i might add)

Yup, still for sale. Went out for a ride this arvo. Out around Kakariki and Cheltenham. Absolutely awesome.

Torn at the moment between getting another sport bike or an adventure/offroad bike to suit my other hobby - fly fishing. Maybe the answer is both

I think I've found my perfect next ride - Suzuki SV650S. Not too big or too small.

To stimulate a sale I've dropped the price to $6k. C'mon folks buy my mint bike... please

hrm, I asked for the same thing and they ignored me, and granted an exemption for the 650 instead - GDLS to remain in place. drat.
