    Howzit china!
Been here 5 years, was from Margate & Durban before that - don't bump into too many KZN'ers over here! Mostly 'vaalies, and some boere.
Anyway, I'm glad I moved. You miss friends & family, and certain things from back home, but overall I don't regret it.

Enjoy doing your research. Keep reading everything you can. Speak to people, but don't listen to those who say it's totally shitty, or that its a blissful paradise. Be careful of the "agencies" in SA who say they'll sort everything out for you if you give them some rediculous amount of money.
    Maybe see you later!

    Cheers
    Dave

    Thanks

Much thanks for all the kind words of welcome and advice received from so many members of the forum.

    I am truly overwhelmed.

Hope to ride with all of you sometime in the not too distant future when I manage to get myself to NZ.

    Jon

    Hi Jon

We left SA in 2001 for Auckland, on PR, and had a fantastic time!
The weather eventually got to us - too cold - and we have now settled in Darwin (we have NZ citizenship).
Originally from Empangeni and Durbs, SHARKS supporter and happy where we are now.

Relocating is NOT easy, the grass is greener due to some more fertilizer..... BUT, you will never regret your move.
Do a lot of research and if you use an agent be careful as there are a lot of sad stories of people who have been ripped-off.
Try to get your PR so that you do not have to rely on visas and be held "hostage" by your employer / sponsor.

Good luck and welcome to the site!

If'n you do come over here, and come to the North Auckland area, you'll think you've never left SA! There are so many from SA and Zim here now, they're threatening the Asians for top spot on the immigration front!

Mind you the Poms are starting to flood in now, too and they've got cash!

Welcome to the site! As long as we take our meds we're usually okay...

WASSUP and welcome to the madness of KB!
Nail your colours to the mast that all may look upon them and know who you are.

Geez, this place is over-run with South Africans...

Jon, you won't regret it, providing you get work and settle well. If you have family issues or worries, it may be more difficult.

Work would most likely dictate your destination. Have you found any websites for work?

    Trademe has a section http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-me-jobs/index.htm

    Then there's seek http://www.seek.co.nz

Maybe some others know of more...

    As for dual-sport riding... Don't know. I'm more a sports-bike lad...
