    Tony.OK's PMCC Rnd 3

Not much sleep last nite as I was about to have my 1st go at racing, woke up at 4:30,alarm was set for 5
Wife and I left for the track at 6,weather looking a tad dodgy didn't do my nerves any good either.
Turn up and get set up in pit garage(thanks Nicki and Leong)and check in and do scrutineering.................then WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Out for 10min practice, feeling better now, bike felt good with sc1 rear.
Having taken a chance and going into F1 for my very 1st race I'm surprised to be on the front row, turns out that was all of us.......hehe.

Race 1 :Nerves not feeling too bad,we're kept waiting for a straggler to form up behind us(F1/F2 and ProStock).Flag drops and I make 2nd for turn 1,by the end of the lap I'm in 1st place.........WTF???
So I just go for it and have a few lapses of concentration wondering what lap it is,is anyone coming, but manage to stay out front to take my 1st win

Race 2 :Make an absolute cock of the start, managed to just watch the flag drop then remember it was for me
Am swamped by 4 other bikes, got by one into turn 2 and watched a guy on an R6 dissapear while I caught the next two out of turn 4,took a wide entry into the GP corner to get a great drive exiting and passed 2 in one hit.
Now it was time to catch the leader,he was a good 2-3 secs ahead so head down arse up,managed to round him up after 2 or 3 laps and use the power down the main straight to gain the lead and then open a decent gap until the chequered flag

So I guess for my 1st time it went pretty damn well, managed to drop my times by another 2 seconds,if I can get my front working better I know theres some more to be had too.
Was good to meet some more KBers and am looking forward to the Vic series now more than ever.

I think the PMCC old guys were just jealous of Frenchy, it was a pretty good wheelie ay! Roll on VMCC where a finish line wheelie is cheered!

Wow - inspiration for other track-dayers to get out there and race. With all the track days now you can get up to speed first right? - better than the bad old days when your first race was probably your first time on a track. Congrats Tony.
