Hope you get a good turnout.

Is there an account number for those who just want to donate?
    Yep... Grace Herceptin Account - ANZ - 01 0822 0098705 000

Great news today! Just got the word that we have enough in the pot for Susan's first herceptin treatment! Psychologically, that's the best possible news she could have, especially in the light of PHARMAC's miserable press release two days ago saying they intended to stick by their decision, regardless of consultation. Which means, pretty much, an open admission that they intend to go into consultation with their minds on shut-down. But we're boxing on, for Sue in particular. I am praying for sunshine.

Love to be there and the sun is out, but that means kids soccer at 10.00, followed by swimming lessons! I'll still be able to throw a few $ in. :2thumbs

Enjoy the ride. I'll be out mid arvo

    thank you!!!

Big thanks to all those who attended yesterday's ride. The sun dances worked, people, so thanks for those too! Not a scrap of rain did we have, and although there were only about forty of us, we raised a staggering $1850 for our gal!

A few people got a few bargains at the auction, and some were surprisingly generous with their bidding! Susan stayed till pretty much the end of the event. She was dead on her feet, poor lass, but she was so overwhelmed by people's generosity that she couldn't bring herself to go home early.

Yesterday was ALL about HER. She has asked me to again pass on her sincere thanks to those who recognised that, and came along to support her. Y'all did us very proud!

Susan and I were seriously impressed by Rashika's luvvvvverly golden wheels. Unfortunado, they probably wouldn't fit my machine, and even if they did, I think the chances of me getting away with them without her noticing would have been slim, at best... Shame. Such goregous gold dancing shoes would go blinging bloody nicely with The Bomb's pink dress...

Herceptin Riders thank y'all too, two (and three!) wheelers, and of course our generous retail and wholesale sponsors, who stepped right up to the plate for this event. Almost every sponsor approached agreed to help. Some who weren't approached put their hands up anyway.

The primary focus of this charity will always be about the people whose lives are under serious threat from HER2+ breast cancer, and who need Herceptin treatment they cannot afford to pay for. But, underpinning that, we ride to draw attention to all cancer sufferers who struggle to get funding under the current, insane regime. One brick at a time, eh peeps?

    Keeping the faith,

    Max

sure was a pretty nice way to spend the day. Its nice to be able to particpate in something like this, and i am impressed with how much money was raised. I know it aint much in the big scheme of things, but I guess it will all help. I wish you all the best Susan, and maybe some of this will get through to powers that be and things will get changed.

I have a couple of pics here, meeting at the square, stop at PMH, stopping at Godley House... and one little one of the new big bro Buell 1125 I just happened to park next to at the Wheatsheaf (it does look HUGE at the front compared to mine!).

And if you like the orange wheels then you'll love the last pic of my bucket I had out at Ruapuna today... its pink baby!
