Safety message for splitters talking off at the lights

Nah, I always make sure that the people at the front are aware I am there. Best way to make sure they see you is to move into their field of view.

2) for whatever reason I dont pull away (breakdown, stall etc..) its much safer to hold up a lane of traffic, than be stuck in the middle of 2 lanes of traffic with fuckwit cagers trying to get past on either side.

I make sure that I only split if I know I'll be faster at the green light. I might misjudge a car, but that didn't happen yet, and I'd rather have a fast car behind me than racing me.

If I can't take off from the light or drive faster than the cars, I just don't lane split and lose a few seconds of my day, not a big deal. Not that I often split anyway...

if i am at the front of the queue - i will pull away in my normal reaction time and at my normal take-off speed ...

there is NO WAY on this green EARTH that i am going to dick about to spare the feelings of some thoughtless twit who has filtered down next to me on the arrogant assumption that just being on a bike gives him [or her] the skill and reactions necessary to take off without being a danger or inconvenience to other road users...

yeah - i know i'm nasty .... but honestly, they shouldn't filter if they aren't quick enough to hit the throttle and get the hell out of the way of the traffic the minute the lights change

for the sake of clarity, i am ONLY talking about filterers taking the central positon between two vehicles at the lights - or 'lane sharing' with the front vehicle ....... i am NOT talking about instances where a filterer occupies a space IN FRONT of the first veh at the lights

i love filtering to the front and watching the boy racers roll up their windows as i go past..
i've stalled a couple of times on the tillis..terribly embarrassing. i'd still rather filter to the front than stay in a massive cue..i have some kind of odd fear of being stuck behind cars. i like being at the front. shame i'm not so good at racing..:-D

I guess it's no problem then if I get to the front of the queue by lane splitting then pull away in my normal reaction time etc.. get over it!

When I'm in the cage the silliest pricks I see are the ones that try and lane split at ther bottom of Haywards where you turn right to head to Lower Hutt. Once I was in the left lane and this dick on a Ducati took off in the middle on his bike and didn't seem to be able to hang it hard right on take off and cut right in front of me because he basically went straight ahead and almost ran off the edge of the road and I nearly hit him and would if I hadn't dabbed the brakes to miss him. The next one I'm in the right lane and this time a guy on an R1 does the same trick splitting up the middle and when we take off he does the old straight ahead trick too and by then I'm off around the corner and he takes a while to get up speed and pass. On a curved take off those boys need to learn a bit of bike control.

Anyway nice one Finn - give them the learn. That's what the human race is about eh - winners and losers and you've got to teach the losers a lesson.

This fat cunt split up to the right of me yesterday morning on a red SV at the lights that come off the motorway and onto the terrace. Lights go green...we both take off at the same time, I turn right into the left lane...he turns right into the right then changes lane across into me, I was forced to brake to avoid him.

Hi number plate was SV650. If you know him, can you pm me his name...I wouldn't mind having a few words.
