We are all confirmed for our trip end June and Sully One is looking forward to his first plane trip (hopefully we can score a window seat).

We are going to do Kelly Tarltons, Rainbows end and Waiwera Hotpools...OH AND Mom and Maha

Any other ideas for us to while away the evenings? Seems we have from about 3-4pm onwards free each night during the week.

Make sure you hit the Mount Eden lookout. I discovered it last week.
    It's bee-yooooooou-tiful.

Also a make-out point by the looks of things.

What about the Sky Tower? Sully One might enjoy that

    Stuff to do?

Waiwera's great, you'll love it. Kelly Tarlton's is a boring, ridiculously-overpriced tourist trap. I'm afraid I can't recommend going there.

Take a round trip from downtown on one of the ferries around the harbour. Kids love being on boats, and if it's a clear day you get great views in the evening as the sun sets over the Waitaks and the city lights turn on.

And I've missed this thread up until now, but naturally if other arrangements fall through Sully60's most welcome to the spare bedroom at chez Grahameeboy-and-Random.

I must warn you, though, that getting from Devonport to Manurewa by car (shudder) would be a mind-numbingly horrible pain in the arse at any time other than about 3am. My car fights its way out of Devonport once a fortnight.

Gosh. I haven't been there in 20 years.

It probably hasn't changed much, either...

Auckland Zoo's pretty good fun, though.

    Thanks dude.

We are lucky that Sully is now able to stay on site with me and the boy so we only travel to get to the fun stuff.

Boat that's a good idea. Will look into that...who are the harbour ferry companies up there?

No worries tho, only one major a week. the big (scary) dog only persuaded 3 or so undesirables (that we know of) that the other side of the fence was better. One murder, one "smash into occupied house to burn it down with the occupants inside" incident and one massive street brawl between lots of "locals".

Wasn't THAT bad, at least I had a garage!

Good luck with the roadshow aye
