Have you found a home for Silly60 yet?

We live about an hour and a half from Manukau, sometimes an hour, sometimes 2 hours depending on the time of day. He has a nice big Queen bed here, complete with ample garage parking for your baby

Very welcome to stay here for as long as needed! We have some nice roads up here he could practise on during his commute to see you guys!

May have to do a BBQ or something for you before you head back south.

Yeah given the to and fro nature of the week that will be I'd say he'd be keener to be closer but very big appreciate hug for the offer Mom!

A BBQ would be cool, but except for Sully, Me and the little one will be without transportation.

We are hoping to be able to get lodgings for the three of us also for Sat night so that we can take Sully One to Rainbows end for some FUN time (as I have been told that the week will be pretty tough on him and NOT FUN)

...would be awesome to meet some of the AKL crew too if they are free AND interested/curious enough to bother with us

Well doh! I have a car! I can drive it in an ok fashion, I will come pick you up, and deliver you back to where you need to be. Mind you we live a fair distance from the bottom of Auckland, maybe we will come and annoy you down there instead.

Try not to worry too much about what is going to happen mate. Trust me on this kids are amazing! They take things in their stride. I have no doubt it will be stressful, but picking it will be worse for you than him.

    An update

So that we aren't 'stranded' we've decided we'll Sully will take the car up. That way me and the boy can travel relatively lightly and we can load all sorts of crap into the thing that we might need.

The plan so far is that we'd like to do stuff at the end of the day that takes me and the little one off campus and as we were hoping to have a holiday at some point but now need to take time off for this we'll hit two birds with one stone and make the most of our time up there.

    Thinking stuff like:
    • Waiwera hot springs...they have slides aye?
    • Kelly Tarltons
    • Rainbows end on the Saturday - so long as we can arrange the flights out for me and lil one to not leave until Sunday morning.
    • AND whatever else is good to do in AKL on a weekday night that's kiddie friendly?

    Other ideas anyone?

Oh and keen to catch-up and meet some of you in the flesh so to speak...if anyone is interested.

(AND thanks for all the PM's and messages of support. Quite overwhelming actually to get this from *almost* complete strangers. THANKS again for the offers too. We think we have a place for Sully to crash, just waiting for confirmation.)

    • Waiwera hot springs...they have slides aye? They have the BEST slides
    • Kelly Tarltons even cooler now they have penguins
    • Rainbows end on the Saturday - so long as we can arrange the flights out for me and lil one to not leave until Sunday morning.
    • AND whatever else is good to do in AKL on a weekday night that's kiddie friendly? The movies at Sylvia park have this theatre that has GIGANTIC beanbags instead of horrid old regular movie seats - much more fun!

    Another update.

Seems Sully60 WILL be able to stay on site with us so we don't need to impose on anyone for the week, Sully one will have both of us there the whole time and Sully60 won't have to travel to and fro each day.

This also means we will be able to be even more flexible around how we entertain ouselves in the evenings.

Plan is to visit Kelly tarltons one night and Rainbows end and Waiwera hotpools on the Saturday - we gonna take a cruizy drive back to Welly on the Sunday.

Keen to hear about any good things to do in the late afternoon, early evening during the week that are 4 year old boy friendly

The Waiwera slides are the best in the country. Fact.

I want to go there now.
