For sale or swap: gsx750f k6

This is my wife's bike. Bought about 1,000 km ago. Turns out it's a bit tall for her (and the offspring) and she therefore needs another bike that's a bit more manageable. It is therefore for sale for the price of a mid sized Ducati Monster....or a for mid Sized Ducati Monster. Looking for a 600 or 750 Monster. would probably consider a 900 too if available.

Anyway - if you've not got a monster in your garage a reasonably close offer could see you with this bike in your garage.

Bike was recently bought fully serviced from Botany Honda before we moved to InverG. Has another 5,000km of maintenance free travel before oil needs changed. Chain and sprockets good and plenty of wear on the Pirellis.

Its good to see you getting all Ducati-ish Jim.
    Monsters are cool fun bikes.

I tried to get her to buy a Ducati in the first place but she fell in love with a GSX600F...then we got the funds to buy it and it was sold. The same shop took posession of the GSX750F shortly thereafter and my missus decided she had to have it.

Don't get me wrong she has enjoyed the bike immensely and is perfectly comfortable on the road with it but the problems start when she has to stop and park the bike or move it around petrol pumps and the like.

It's a good bike and is considerably faster than my Ducati.

There are joggers faster than my Ducati - look carefully - it's a 583cc air cooled, 2 valve engine. Same design as the 600 pantah engine of the eighties. Sounds lovely, handles beautifully, nice flat torque curve but for all that it's not that quick.

Thanks. Most manufacturers make a wide spectrum of bikes to suit. I quite simply couldn't afford a 748,749,848,851,888,916,996,998,999 or 1098. Then I looked further and discovered the Desmodue range, decided on a 97 model (last of that shape) nearly bought a 750 from Dooly but couldn't get the money together in time and someone else bought it. Then I found this one in Hamilton in great condition - I just needed to change the belts and give it a service.

Anyway - Chickadee sat on a monster in Oamaru after the March Hare and declared that it was the bike for her hence the GSXF is up for sale and a Monster 600,620,750,800 ot 900 desmodue is sought.

    any takers?

Went looking for the service history on the bike and found the previous owner had it serviced religiously at a Suzuki dealer. Given the fact that we now know the bike's full history it's basically worth more to us than we could possibly get for it so it's withdrawn from sale.

    Cheers.

If we had a few grand available we'd have accepted a lower price and bought her a Monster already. I'm basically skint. Why would you move from a 748 to a GSX750F?

Umm....the 748 is wasted on me, it's farkin uncomfortable, the servicing costs are ghastly and I just don't see the point in it until it hits about 140kmph. The old GSX motors are bombproof.
