Skull candy has worked great for me. I used to have a pair of custom made plugs, similar to plugz for lugs, and they were in a whole different league, but I lost them! DRATS!

Ride, eat, sleep, repeat!
I use Creative EP630 earphones. They're awesome. Even with no music playing the earplug styling of them blocks out a lot of outside sounds.
Have tried all sorts of canal-phones in the past, to no avail.
The Plugz 4 Lugz I had made up yesterday though, work amazingly well.

Sweet idea Rob, I've seen them but never tried them inside my helmet.
Actually I was worried that long exposure to music via those ear canal headphones gonna ruin the hearing so these might come in handy added with ear plugs when I ride.
Usually when I ride I wear my ear canal headphones for blocking out a bit of the wind and blast bit of music out the same time.
i use Shure headphones on my ipod, do the job very well.
A universal dream of greatness is that
We push ourselves to the limit
Yet still be brilliant when the chips are down.
Sometimes , The struggle kills the dream.
Style to get = in ear "earplug" style. Cuts down on wind noise and stays put. Also highly highly highly unlikely to get damaged by water. Even if they get soaked, sitting in a plastic bag for a few days with a pot of damprid will sort them out.
As for type, I have had a pair of Shure E3c's for the past 5 years. The cost $299 at Harvey Norman (you can get them way cheaper off overseas websites). In terms of cost, these things sound AMAZING and I fully aniticpate using them for another 10-15 years. try saying that about your home stereo.![]()
Just picked up another set of Sennheiser CX300 ripoffs yesterday as I broke my last ones.
$10 this time.
Still like them.
I third this! I've had these since September and they're the best sounding earphones I've ever owned. You don't have to have them loud for it to sound good either as they work as earplugs as they actually go inside your ear. I wear them at work all day aswell and they don't get uncomfortable whatsoever.
I am also a very tall, very good-looking man, so I look good while I'm wearing them.
Oh, mine aren't ripoffs though, I bought mine from noel leeming for $60 (they were priced at $90 but I talked them down as the packaging had been opened, hehe).
Really? Did it actually say it was sennhesier 'ripp offs' ?
I've bought a some cheap ear canal head phones called 'kanon' off trade me for about $15.00.
Works some out O.K.
Eastern Hi-Fi is doing a deal on some good Denon ones for about $60.00

No....
But when it says "Like Sennheiser, not Sennheiser" on the auction and they come in a Sennheiser packet then they're probably rip offs
I also got some of those "pad" type ones with the velcro for helmets/beanies but don't like them.
They take up too much room in the helmet and unless you've got a very quiet helmet you still need to wear earplugs and that also means lower mp3 volume.
can anyone help me on this (its fits in my mind) as an option to just headphones for the MP3.
Chatterbox: it can pick up FM and also allows MP3 plug in plus it can connect through to another chatterbox and be used by the pillion/another rider, and is voice activated. yes it costs but I'm heading o'seas for a holiday soon so was going to see the prices there.
Is it any good?
Voted most likely to be asked to give an after dinner speach at a bulemic's function
I brought these on trade me
Love them, great quality and work well!!

sorry for the dredge post guys.
Being hearing impaired I dont use ear phones whilst riding but the man would like to. We have tried 4 or 5 canal bud earphones so far and the problem is more with the helmet than the sound. Everytime he goes to put the helmet on he dislodges the earbuds. Doesn't seem to make any difference what brand etc. He does have very small ear canals (he was a prem baby poor wee lad) and so atm we are trying out some over the ear type with the bud insert.. But the twit got them caught on the door handle as he walked downstairs and broke them before he got to try them out.
Yes I know everyone raves about plugs for lugz but they are just too expensive.
Sooo.. has anyone else had trouble getting earplugs and helmet to fit and stay put without being quite uncomfortable?
Any ideas at all really?
I wouldn’t be broke if the voices in my head paid rent
I had the same problem when I used to wear an HJC helmet then I bought an Arai and haven't had the problem any more. The Arai has more room around the ears than the HJC which used to push on my ears and fold them up if I didn't push them back up. I still find I need to hold the plugs in place a bit as I put my helmet on, but once it's on the plugs don't get pushed out of my ears during speed changes like they did in the HJC. Perhaps try a different helmet, one that has a lot of room around the ears.![]()
