Pay vs hours worked each week?

Just wondering whats the average amount of hours people work each week Vs what they get paid.

Im not expecting people to put what they actually earn up here, just an average figure.

Interesting question Martin, can't say too much for what the other replies will be but I can bet most would be on more per week than you.

I am paid on salary .. so the hours I work are not as relevant as I don't get paid if I do more than 40. My contract expects me to work 40 .. and I average between 38 and 45 hours per week. Dollars - well above average (that is cos i work IT).

for the 2007 year i worked the standard 2080 hours, plus about 400 hours overtime. some guys in the hangar have done nearly 600.

36 days annual leave, 10 days sick leave (and I took it ALL), average about $37 an hour.

PLUS, when I'm not working, I'm flying - dropping parachutes. nice pocket money

I get $9 for each parachute i pack.

If i go hard i can get them done in 6 minutes each.

It's more physical than you'd think.

I've managed 9 in one hour once but it's completely variable. For example, if i end up working today i might only pack 10 or less.

My biggest month was January. I went hard out and packed 757 parachutes in a month

I'm on call 7 days a week though. But, i'd probably be at the DZ waiting to jump anyway if i had a day off.

I work on average 45-50hours a week, and in the 35-40k a year bracket.

Ive beem running the parts dept for the past 4 years and they still wont up me to parts/accessories manager. I asked for more money and was told they will think about it. That was 3 going on 4 weeks ago.
Hense why im interested in what other industries are like.

Why don't you apply for the parts job thats going at the moment at Motomart. With your experience they'd jump at the chance to hire you and you can negotiate a better pay rate.

    Kinda a p/t.

If I got paid for the hours I worked I would earn just under six figures.

But I'm on salary so a quarter of my work I give away free to the man.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
