Hell Billy , i am far from knowlegable (or goud at spulling) but i am old so i am what you may call " old school " when it comes to racing. Mr Bagshaw is also in this same group and he has vast experiance to call on with such things as memory crossed with bullshit just like me (and others ) .
I didnt intend to make Steve appear wrong but i make no apology for stating facts. I always try to find out rules from the rule book and if i dont understand the book i ask the assholes that wrote it , (MNZ) .
When i rang Paul Stewart he was also a bit unsure as NZPCRR run meetings and rules to thier own standards but he did know who to direct me to so i could clarify the rules of eligability. According the the guy (name escapes me) there is nothing wrong with a hybrid bike of any type as long as it fits the rules and in NZ the classics are almost all graded by age. Nice and simple and no room really for grey areas. Yhe onus on proof of age is on the rider / builder of the bike.
Steve , i hope you didnt deleate your posts due to what i said.

    Thanks, Paul.

Given a decent pilot on the thing, Chris Sales doesn't stand a chance this year.

Actually Pete and Chris have the XR handling at last and hes going heaps faster on it now(Blitzed the Senior post classic feild @ Taupo by the length of the big straight on the long circuit).Add to that the fact they are building a CBR400/600(the engines already mounted)and they have aquired a set of 35mm flat slides so they can run it on methanol,I think young Chris will definitely be in the running

Yeah I know where youre coming from Paul,I am also old school.Being in my 54th year and been roadracing since 1971 I am very aware of the way roadracing is run in this country and was very careful about who I spoke too regarding this bike and the RGV we built a couple of years ago.I think you will find having spoken to Steve regarding this thread,He most likely withdrew his posts due to my rather harsh comments more so than anything you said.We have since resolved the issue amicably and I will be withdrawing that post immediately

I guessed you were old school as you mentiond Robert (RD250 crash expert) Ryan lol. I know him well. Hell if you know him i may know you. I worked at Sawyers (dont tell anyone) and worked on his bike a wee bit.
Good to see you sorted the political stuff out too

Ohhh shit ...... the old pricks comin back lol.
Bout time Barry , there is no excuse offered for your absence last year.
I always thought there was a bit much engine stickin out of your fairing, or was that crash damage showing.

C ya there and look out for the new (old) look on the bike with a much prettier rider to boot.

    Paul.
