And what a great day it was! Off to a not-too-auspicious start (we lost each other by going to different petrol stations where we thought we were going to meet...ummmm). But, we found each other again and duly headed south. Quite a sobering moment riding past the burnt out warehouse in Tamahere.
Got to Cambridge for lunch (at the pink church), then on to Tirau for a quick look. Would have spent much longer there except time was flying (tempus fugit, as they say). So we jumped back on Bandit and Bandit and headed home to Auckland. Some looooovely long stretches to wind the throttle open, and beautiful riding weather. Was fantastic seeing so many bikes out today, and a special mention to the large group of riders who were all heading toward Gordonton - well met just up from the turnoff at Taupiri! Longest stretch I've ever ridden with one hand in the air as the line of waves was continual
Have a great night bg, don't get too rat-faced (you know how you suffer afterwards..........)
