Ok guys - obviously my thoughts on starting a thread on just how crap NZ car drivers are doesn't look like it will create the kind of energy and debate that I was looking for. So how about something a little less politically correct:

Asian drivers - a contradiction in terms?

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. So Biff, why do most Welsh people speak and write the language of the people that kicked their arses big-style when us true Poms came over from Germany to help ourselves? You`ve even got a half-caste Greek as your lord and master, yep Chaz the butler-shagger,Prince of Wales, which is a bit like being King Of Siberia, except at least there the mines are still open.Wales has it`s uses though,Korean firms go there for the cheap labour and it`s handy for stashing the Celts away from the civilised part of Britain.
Every Kiwi I`ve ever met has been proud of their country, and rightly so,not sure about the Welsh because even after hundreds of years of attempting to speak the conquerer`s language they still sound as if they`ve been sniffing glue to the cultured English ear.As for the native tongue, well usually between a Sheeps back legs but I digress.I`m sure you`ll agree though Biff it`s a great place to move 12000 miles to get away from.Plenty of Asian drivers in Wales, just take a look at the Management car-park at the Samsung factory(fine old Welsh name that is) and you`ll see their BMW`s lined up,cant miss it,right next to the bicycle shed the employees use.

Oh dear, yet another xenophobe who doesn't appear to have attended history or English language classes (your punctuation skills when writing “the conqueror’s language”, your own language, is appalling).

Here are some facts for you as you're obviously in need of some enlightenment.

Tests by anthropological experts in 1998 were conducted in order to find out where true Brits originated, where they were concentrated and to what extent their blood lines exist today. The result - the most pure blood lines of the true Brit are to be found in Wales and Scotland. Why? Because for hundreds of years the Welsh and the Scottish fought off invasion after invasion from the Romans, Saxons and the Normans while the English fought amongst themselves. Once England was conquered (again, 4 - times in 400 years) and only then did the whole of Wales fall over a period of 150 years while Scotland was betrayed by one of their own and in effect surrendered. Facts.

The English language is borne from a mixture of French, German, Italian, Greek and a myriad of other languages. Your national anthem was formerly that of Russia until they dropped it and a certain English catholic priest thought it quite catchy so brought it back to England. As for YOUR royalty, what a joke. The prince of Wales is English (his coat of arms German), his mothers family are German, his father is Greek.

Incidentally, it’s only been legal to speak Welsh in Wales for the past 150 years following the conquering of Wales by the Romans. Before this time any Welshman heard speaking Welsh would be imprisoned either in the UK of sent to Australia

Before you try and insult an entire nation with false facts, xenophobic comments and general BS, do some research first.

Achos dos dim un o ni yn hoffi rhywyn syth yn siarad trwy nei penol - That's Welsh by the way; One of the oldest and purest languages in the world. Spoken by varying degrees by over 60% of people under the ages of 30 (by 2000 census) in Wales. Certainly not a commonly used language granted because the wider world has decided that English is the language of choice for business, commerce and education. I speak four languages by the way. How many do you speak?

Inward investment in Wales is most welcome and I’m proud and grateful to say that one such Asian company put me through university. My comment was related to Asian drivers in New Zealand, a country with different (and to a degree more relaxed) laws with regards to allowing overseas drivers on their roads than the UK. Not that I was aware that there was a Samsung factory in Wales. Sony and Panasonic yes.

I’m proud to be Welsh and proud to be British. I’m also grateful that the Kiwi's are a little more accommodating and understanding about overseas cultures and people than some of my fellow Brit country folk.

Note: I'm not having a pop at the English, my entire family (mother & father included) and wife are English and I’m proud of it. But I do get bored with blinkered xenophobic Brits who have to lower to personal insults and historical inaccuracies in an attempt to insult an entire nation. Which in itself appears to be a favourite pastime, along with winging.

Yep,same research showed the Celts to have originated in North Africa, that makes "Land Of My Fathers" Algeria or Tunisia at a guess

Little wonder the Taffs struggle then.

Which I believe was what I said, bit embarassing when you have to get a migrant to fill an important position like that,no local talent obviously

[QUOTE]Incidentally, it’s only been legal to speak Welsh in Wales for the past 150 years following the conquering of Wales by the Romans. Before this time any Welshman heard speaking Welsh would be imprisoned either in the UK of sent to Australia[QUOTE]

A charitable act to improve their living conditions

Absolutely, couldn`t have put it better myself,I suggest you read your original post.

[QUOTE] Certainly not a commonly used language granted because the wider world has decided that English is the language of choice for business,[QUOTE]

Now why would the wider world do that?Maybe they dont use Welsh because "It`s not a commonly used language" perhaps?

But I do get bored with blinkered xenophobic Brits who have to lower to personal insults and historical inaccuracies in an attempt to insult an entire nation. Which in itself appears to be a favourite pastime, along with winging.
Agree entirely,as I suspect suspect do the Kiwi guys you were trying to wind up.I`m not xenophobic, dont dis-like any race or citizens of any country as a whole.2 final points, think you should have read Jim2`s post before falling into your own trap, and secondly whinging(ironic that you got that word wrong) has an "H" in it,isn`t it always the way that you stuff up right after criticising someone else for the same thing, that`s life I guess.

Moko - you don't half talk some rubbish. Why is it that some of you poms have to resort to stereotyping people and derogatory comments when you talk about other nations?

I think you kinda missed the whole point of this thread. He was winding us up a bit in an attempt to make us think about our flag - my flag, not yours. A hot topic here in NZ at the moment. He did so by making tongue in cheek, but worthy comments and you have to resort to insulting an entire nation in a half hearted attempt at a response.
