    No spark?

    have just got a yamaha xs 1100 have power to all of bike but no spark. Need help to get running can you guys help/http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif

    No spark at the plugs ? or no power to the coils ?

    PM Subike he's munching up miles on a XS11

    Gidday Ratbiker 08,
    Do all your basic checks again & check all the electrical connections for dry jointing...

    If memory serves the 11's had a very basic "Vehicle Down Sensor" in the form of a mercury switch that would cut power to the ignition if the bike exceeded a certain lean angle...

    Could well be worth a look once you've ascertained all is well everywhere else...

    Have power to coils but no spark to plugs was told it mite be cdi,s gone

    If you've got power to your coils then you should have power to your plugs, unless both coils have failed, or lost an earth, or broken leads.
    Check the earth connections from the coils to the frame.
    Have you taken the plugs out, left them connected but earthed on the motor and cranked it over to see if they're sparking?

    Have no spark yet but well take to expert. rest of bike in good nik.

    Have bike going thanks for all your help was broken wires in coils bike is running good needs a tune but have the time now.:woohoo
