RG150 Shock

I've just picked up an RG150 as a commuter hack. In amongst the usual getting things sorted when you pick up a new old bike I've got the forks working OKish but now the shock seems really grim. Is there anything with a bit of adjustment that anyone knows about that will bolt in, the stocker is completely non adjustable and looks to be unserviceable as well.

Anything is possible but is ( almost always )totally proportional to how much you want to spend. You can buy ''one size fits all ''adjustable'' cheap and cheerful'' shocks. But whether they actually work and if the adjusters are there for decoration is another matter. I fear what you are looking for cannot be done cheaply.

I was hoping there was a tried and tested mod that the street stock guys have been using without spending as much on the shock as the bike cost me. Never mind.

the shock is adequate to the limitations to the frame and forks, so I wouldn't worry too much

Yeah some of the wee buggers in streetstock manage to turn in some good laptimes considering the hardware. The shock is poor, yes but it doesn't seem to hamper them too badly.

Bigger guys probably have a worse time, I can get mine going ok and i'm just on 80kg, so bigger than those 15yr old sprats.

Thanks for that. I think mine may be a little worse for wear but it looks like I'll have to live with it. I love the the little thing so far, small bikes are hillarious. Guys at work can't understand why I leave my 750 at home and ride the RG in every day.
If they raced Streestock up here I would have had one in the garage long ago, as it is the only cheap way to go racing in Auckland seems to be buckets and the build process on the MB50 for the wife is taking longer than expected
