    Auckland; Telecon Vs. The Rest

I'm looking for advice on moving to Auckland.

It's too late, I've sold out to the devil and am now here.

Used to have Telstra Clear in Welly, they have the primo cable ISP and cable TV on the same bill as the phone. No cables here in Auckland so am thinking of joining up with Telecon to get the Sky option on the same bill also, hate paying bills so the less the better. Are there any differences in quality (speed) from other providers here in Jaffadom?

Any practical advice from Aucklanders appreciated

My Xtra connection is shithouse up here compared to what it was in Welly 4 months ago. How I miss Wellington. Then again I think i'm further away from the Junction box.

If you ever wanna have a cry over a beer about how much you miss Wellington, you know who to call.

    Down with xtra.

Orcon are also pretty descent. What area are you in? That can affect what service provider you use. Also xnet have been having bad international traffic lately.

It's only been 3 days, not quite binge drinking yet. It will come though I'm sure. Sigh.....

    Haha scooter boy? Dream on.

I'm saying that I don't venture out those ways, and none of my 'bros' are out there, so can't comment on ISPs and internet in your area.

But look, it says it right up there, next to your avatar. If it's on the internet it must be true.

    No worries dude.

Looks like I'll be avoiding Telecon & Xtra.

Ah, the old Pont de Mangere...

If you go for wired "Broadband" in Auckland, you're really just picking what flavour customer service you want at the moment, at the end of the day it's still all Telecon's kit give or take some trial installs in a couple of exchanges.

I've gone the iHug route because I could combine it with the Vodafone bill.
