Me? I'm doing the "Grand Tour" of the North Island starting on the 27 December. Welly night at Paul in NZ then up to New Plymouth to see a guy I have not seen in sixteen odd years. Through to Tauramanui and Auckland, meet the wife. A trip up to as far north as pos then back to Tauranga where I want to meet up withand old friend that I have not seen since I was fifteen or sixteen. Scoot down to the National Park, Chataeu and Mt Ruapahu where I worked as a ski bum. Waouru Taihape Taupo and the central North island not necessarily in that order. Back to Tauranga and then off to kauwarau (paper mill) worked on drilling rigs in there and at Wairakei in the mid sixties. In short ladies and gentleman I'm going back to some of my old haunts. Most of the people that I knew in those days are long gone, so if you see a black Guzzi with a white sheepskin saddle Skyryder's about.

I dont have any family to worry about (All of them moved to Aussie) so I dont have to wake up early or anything. Hehe, then I can watch some TV (Is there anything good on a Xmas day??) have my sausage roll and a coke and then go out for a ride to see what the rest of the world is doing.

Its good not having any ties or commitments but sad at the same time. Yep, and time to crank out the smallest violin in the world for me.

Have a safe and merry Christmas all, and to all a Happy New Year!

Christmas day... Wake up, open presents with siblings and parents (I'm still living at home), bum around most of the day, then go to the annual family gathering for dinner (usually granddad does a roast lamb on a spit).
Quiet, but I'm looking forward to it

The in-laws who don't know they are inlaws are coming down from Norway. We're going to Wanaka for Christmas, then heading back to Dunners, then to Whakatane for the new years when the bombshell will be dropped.

Yeah not too sure what we should be doing at Christmas for them. Any suggestions? What are the normal Kiwi things to do / eat over christmas?

And what is up with the typing today? Some words start typing backwards and its getting annoying?

unfortunately just as a spectator this year and hoping to meet a few more KB members at the event.

Well, the kids and I are firing up the BBQ early on Xmas day and it won't be going out until after the party on New Years !! ..... well only to change the bottle as I doubt it will go the distance ..... We thought we might get out and play a mini-putt challenge too :cool2: .... and then it's just a matter of sitting around and seeing who turns up for the rage on the 31st .... and doing heaps of riding too of course ....

Xmas morning with my family, big brekkie, opening presents, etc. Then The Man & I are heading down to Wanganui because he & Mitch are (hopefully - they haven't had confirmation yet) racing in F3 on Boxing Day. We'll stay down there Boxing Day night too, and then I'm not sure what's happening. We're both working the 3 days between Xmas & New Year.

No confirmed plans for New Years yet.

Except ... Lots of & hopefully no or

well we will be staying home for the first time in 20 years, normally we go to my Mums place, this year the kids all wanted to have time at home with just hte immediate family, which is great, we will eat far too much and just hang out together, if it's fine we'll be swimming, if it's not we'll be watching videos and playing video games, no excuse for having a crap day!
Having all 6 kids home will be pretty full on I'm picking

    xmas aye....

... I'll be watching the girls open the truckload of pressies they've been given, followed by a glass or two of wine. Then off to a family get together, full of awkward moments and a bottle or two of wine. Then off to another family get together, full of awkward questions and a case or two of wine.... ba humbug!

Hopefully, I will remember to turn when I bah, they're family, they wont mind.

    I f__king hate Christmas.

The ONLY redeeming feature is watching the kids have fun with the wrapping paper.

The rest of the family give me the sh_ts. It's just an excuse to compare the biggest winners and losers in the familial circle, and to publicly expose everyone's particular foibles.

Thankfully, I will be spending it with Heather, William, and Jacob, the only people I know who are unequivocally happy to see me every day.

    Bah Humbug.

I hope you all get lumps of coal.

    Where's my F__king bike?

    Bah Humug.
