    ScotOiler problem.

Anyone else had the tube that administers the oil drop off...

What did you use to replace it? I've tried a few small tube options but none have stuck or delivered the goods to the chain terribly well.

I have had that happen a couple of times until I found the cause.

It doesn't just "drop out" as you might have thought, what happens is that when you are pushing your bike backwards into a parking space, the delivery tube can be pushed forward infront of the sprocket. Then when you go forward, it catches between the chain and sprocket and gets pulled out. You need to make sure that the heavy white tube extends far enough that only a very short piece of delivery tube is required.

The vacuum tube that goes from the ScotOiler to the carb/TB is exactly the correct size for the delivery tube, so use a piece of that that you had left over from the installation.
    Time to ride

Better start by saying my oiler is packed into a bag on my bench - So I arent a current user
But what appeared to me to be a good delivery tube is the tubes you get with the chain oil spray cans. The tube is firm and wont bend easily and looks the right size.

Umm second hand bike so didn't install myself.....

Thanks for the suggestion though and I will have a look at the bigger of the two tubes...looks rather short to me....

Thanks also Warr - will look into that...

I bought the injectors from the UK. Cost more for delivery.
    95p for what I wanted!
Looks like they have a NZ distributer in New Plymouth: eurobike@xtra.co.nz

i set mine so it just touches the sprocket, slightly above the teeth of the sprocket , the tip is short about 20 mm long and cut on the angle so it touches with more surface. wheeling the bike back and forwards dosnt bother it .

should be able to get if the shop stocks any of the oiler parts they should have these.
they have a bulge in the end away from the tip to more secure them .

    All sorted

The boys at Wmcc have ordered me the part...a whopping $6 (including courier)

So I shall soon be looking after my chain properly again
