How do you keep warm at night?

Sounds daft, but on try wrapping a newspaper around yourself... under your jacket. It's a cheap and easy way to get warm (if you get caught short out int he middle of nowhere, just pick up a paper and uyou're good to go)

Stick a newspaper down the front of your jacket.

This is a goody if you get caught out. Grab a paper from the petrol station and bunch the pages up inside your jacket. Stuff em in good and firm, just make sure you can still bend.
Good short term "get you home" insulation.

What else can i wear under my gear to keep warmer.

Wool, my preference is merino, mix it with a bit of possum fur and you will never be cold according to my old Mommy...LOL Seriously, these acrylic products are wonderful, but natural fibres next to skin are the berries. Lots of light layers beats the cold. Drafts/wind, biggist chiller of a biker, so do your best to eliminate the wind.

I just wear a thermal T-shirt, full leathers and a neck warmer and i'm all good.

Dude, we live in the winterless Norf here, we really dont know what cold is, unless we are wet and riding after dark in the winter at some speed. You can get seriously cold and hypothermic on a bike. Wind chill factor is something that all riders should factor into their gear.

Yes cold is something best explored in the deep south. Nothing like getting up ona chilly morning in Alex and looking out at the Hoare frost...fuck trying to ride to work on a morning like that....suacide.

You don't say which part is cold but I suspect, like others have said, it may be the area just below your neck? This is one of the harder bits to keep warm and is why you get all these neck warmers etc on the market.

I have a Revit Balaclava made of their excellent windproof material. I've tried kneck-warmers (they roll down your face when you pull the helmet on), I've tried bibs (they're thick but not windproof), I've tried thick balaclavas (they're too thick under the helmet).
With the Revit, the windproof bib down the front seals off that area that gets cold, the thin material fits well under the helmet and the whole thing is very comfortable. A bonus is that it doesn't get out of shape or lose when you pull it below your chin.

Oh, I also have a long scarf that I wind around my kneck when it's really cold, That's to stop cold air coming up into the helmet from underneath - toasty warm .

If ya smoke tobacco......STOP, give up rightaway, its proven that smokers feel the cold worse than non smokers.
If you are underweight, put on a few kilos, dont be afraid, increase your mass and you will stay warmer.
Always wear merino wool socks and good boots on ya feet, keeping feet and hands warm is paramount.
If ya dont wanna make these sacrifices, get a cage with a HEATER!

And I agree a few extra Kilos body weight in winter is good, but I have never carried extra weight , so that counts me out lol
