Mac geeks - Save You Tube movies

TubeTV saves and converts You Tube movies for iTunes.

May need a quicktime component DL as well, but it works really well for me.

OK - just tried that - nothing happens.

Do you have to wait till it finishes downloading?

don't have to with the tubeTV and firefox thingy - which is why I liked it - loaded up my ipod touch and watched them on the plane to Aus.

OK, that comment wasn't very useful was it...

    1. Open the activity window. You'll see a list of the pages that you have open in Safari. If you click on the triangles you'll see all the files that have to be down loaded for each page. Put the window somewhere you can see it.
    2. Go to your favourite youtube (or whatever) page. It'll show up in the list.
    3. Click the triangle and you'll see all the files that make up that page. Most of them will be 10-100KB. There will be one that is still loading that will be several MB. That's your video.
    4. Double click the line with the big file. It'll starting downloading to your deskop, usually with the name get_video.flv

I know, your program was easier, but I'm a nerd, easy doesn't come into it.

I am just not nerdy enough.

Think I better sign up to some nerdy Mac forums...

that was soooo simple yet I did not get it.

But this is really cool (literally) -

    http://homepage.mac.com/holtmann/eid...ol2/index.html

Its a program for iMac users, that allows you to change the speed and ultimately the temp of your iMac. Its great if your running windows (gasp!) and allows you to play games without overheating your gorgeous mac since the internal fans will not increase their speed unless your running an apple flavor.

Oh and its just plain cool.

I think you spend far too much time on Youtube as it is. Doesn't your crumpet have things for you to do?

Cheers Dave. Been looking for something like that.

I've been using Wimpy FLV player to play downloaded .flv files from Youtube (downloaded using henrys method).

Turns out all I needed was Perian for Quicktime.

Cheers - One click and it's done with the new doohickey - same with batch downloads - just queue them up and go to bed.

Normal? you mean a apple computer?

No way a computer that after having a fresh install of XP has spyware etc can be deemed in any way normal.
