    Clutch plates?

just putting my clutch back together and never done it before. Just wondering when I'm putting the steel plates in they have a smooth edge and the other is sharp. does it matter which way round the steels go sharp edge in or out??

    Thanks

I've often wondered about that myself.

Came across a comment the other day from a bike mechanic who said in his experience the factories always assemble them sharp edge out.

Dunno why it would make a difference though.

    Manuals for Gas Gas here.

    http://www.gasgas.com/end_manuals.htm

FWIW I have just read thru my assortment of honda and one suzuki manual, and none of them say there is a "side" to have either in or out.
