Karl is a very very fit guy who's walked away from some very very hefty offs over the years.

He actually ended up with three broken bones in his foot and a broken nose as a result of the interface with a GSXR at Thruxton but has stated he'll be back out there for Oulton in 2 weeks time.

I think for the first time in years he actually has a good chance of the title this year thanks to the one make tyre rule.
The older i get the faster i used to be.......

I reckon the frame snapping probably saved his life.

Amazing what adrenaline can do. He looks in a hell of a lot of pain, and yet, he's running like a maniac right after the event...now, that's what I call staunch (of course, getting out of the way of oncoming traffic must be a big motivator also, but still...)

    Awesome vid, thanks for sharing!

Damn that's sick action! I suppose that the bike was still going forward at a rate of knots and the closing speed wasn't too great...still, fairly minor injuries for what could've been a far worse result.

    One tough Guy

I was Karls Mechanic in 2000 we clocked up 37 crashes that year and he kept on going hard after each one. Wrote off a bike in ost curve at hockemheim lost the front flat out in 5th came back to pits and 3 laps later was going faster on spare bike!! He is one very tough guy!! We had a lot of very late nights that year!!!!!
