No, I don't now about any other spill she's had, but the the drop from the ute was my own fault. She treated me alrigth when I rode her. Don't blame the bike, blame the rider.

More than you could amagine, Gav. That was one dodgy deal. Had a long chat with Tony (Frosty) last night about my old VFR. You see that guy is trying to past off a home repair bike as a newly imorted used bike (major differience). Also it appears that the speed may have been rewound. It goes a little like this:

    16/01/2004
I was loading my VFR on my flatdeck ute to take to Cyclespot for them to service the bike with 70000Km showing on the speedo (I get a shop to do very 10000Kms and I do the 5000Km myself). Because I had not sercured the ramp properly and because I rode it up, the ramp give way. This caused the bike to slide down the back end of the ute and land on it's back wheel (with me still on top with the bike still in gear and the motor running). It was so close to tipping over on top of me, but ended up falling onto it's left hand side. This smash the upper fairring (and the light housing), left side fairring, left mirror, and clutch handle. The insurance decided to right the bike off as they had valued the damage at $4000/4500 and the bike at $4500 pre accident (FMI claim no.7217444).
    4/02/2004
I got a call of my insurance saying that the bike had gone at auction for $1450.
Now somewhere between then and Tony buy it, it has appeared to have lost a few Km's.
I'll let Tony take the story from hear, but the morals for this story are:
    1. Don't trust anyone when you are buying a bike. Do a check on it (this is a good site http://www.motorweb.co.nz/public/, $25 and only takes seconds).
    2. If you are selling a bike and being dodgy, be warned. Bikers talk to each other and old owners can reconise they bikes fairly easily (special if there is something different with the mechanical side). There are some pretty dangerous bikers out there that would not be shy of giving you a good smacking over if they fould that you had ripped them off. So in short didn't do it, beside the life of the next rider may depend on knowing what has happen to that bike in the past.
