Why not offer to double glaze and otherwise sound proof their homes for em.
From the landlords (AC Council) point of view surely this is the economic solution. -dunno maybee im oversimplifying.

Just saw the news at 6. Around FOUR THOUSAND supporters marched today down Gt North Rd - complete with police escort - banners, etc in SUPPORT of the speedway. This just shows how alive and well democracy is in this lovely country.

It's a crying shame that we have this old fart for a mayor - we wouldn't have had the same problems with John Banks aka Mr Ferrari driver. We probably would have even had the V8 street race.

I would have thought the speedway would have had a good case for existing use rights, but Im sure they have engaged lawyers who have checked out this angle.

From my understanding, if you're complying with 95dBA and then the District Plan rules change to 85dBA, you should be able to continue making up to 95dBA.

The landowners should be made to donate any increase in their property values to the speedway for the fuck around they have caused.

that sucks bout speedway, anyone whos brought a house behind the track mustv known what they were getting themselves into wit the noise and everytime im at the track i always notice the neighbours on their balconies watching too so its jus real dumb of them to kick up a fuss now. Anyway dont some charge people to come watch off their balconies!?! so they can hardly say theyr having to pay cos of the noise!

Plus EVERYONE within earshot will want the mod's done to their house, esculating the costs.

Hmmm, by LAW they are in the right. The Speedway has had 10 years to sort it's act out. Either the law changes or the speedway shuts down. Personnally I don't give a toss either way. They can all come down here and use our one :spudwave:
