OZ MotoGP Aussie support class races

    Gidday all.
As we did last year, we will be organising riders to go to Australian MotoGP in October at Philip Island to race in the Aussie support classes.

At this stage the focus is on 125, but clearly there are 600 and Superbike classes if anyone is interested in taking their big bikes over.

Please see the attached flyer for some information. More detailed information can be obtained from me (Steve) or from Mel.

At this stage the costs cannot be nailed down as consignment, accommodation and car rental costs change per rider as the number of riders changes.

We have not yet decided on a cut off date, but will post that when we do.

Have a think about coming, it is a great time and well worth it, if only to go to the aftermatch party on Sunday night and drink piss and tell lies with a large proportion of the GP riders.

    Thanks

    Steve

You can't miss this opportunity guys. I'm already signed up, last year was a blast. Bit of a financial burden but you have to put things in perspective. Best track, MotoGP riders etc. Can't wait

I think it works out at about $1k extra per bike (working on last years costs). But you have to remember that all bikes need to come back in one go so that would mean everyone having to pay the extra. I certainly wouldn't be keen on the idea. I think it took roughly 3 weeks last year to get them back.

From what I recall of the dates, it was 4 weeks give or take a few days from packing up in Melbourne to picking up in AKL via seafreight.
This is however subject to change by many different variables and could stretch out longer, hence the reason for air freight to OZ so that we are sure when the bikes will arrive.
Air freighting is approx 2.5 to 3 times the cost of seafreight, for obvious reasons, so would add about $1k perbike as Kirk suggests.

Have a good look at calendars to see if there is actually any or much tracktime around the end of October. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is the VMCC meeting at Manfeild.

    Cheers

    Steve

    Can you install air con!!!???

Only reason for not wanting to wait so long for the bikes to get back is that the nats are not to far around the corner and i want all the practice i need!
