Hornets share the same basic engine as a CBR250 but have been tuned to provide more mid-range power which is more useful in everyday riding. Very nimble, easy to control and loves going around corners. Great learner or restricted bike that is suitable for most sizes and fun for all experience levels with power to keep you entertained as you progress. Full sized which is visually very similar to the 600 and 900 Hornets with the fat 180 rear wheel, people are often shocked to find out its a 250. It has all the looks but with the economy of a 250.
The bike is completely standard apart from putting in a Blue/White bulb to give it a bit more visibility at night over the standard one. It comes with original tool kit and an owners manual/handbook that I purchased.
Tyres consist of a Metzeler M3 on the front with a Michelin Power Race on the rear; both had 3mm tread at warrant last week at VTNZ.
It has a few scratches here and there and two small dents on the tank, the side of the engine and the "carbon fibre" style muffler cover but nothing too out of the ordinary for its age. Starts easily, engine is very smooth, brakes well, gearbox has a positive feel etc etc. It has been very reliable as you would expect from a Honda at this mileage. I have test ridden a few Hornets and other various 250s before I decided on this one at Cyclespot Takapuna, where it has also been serviced.
New Warrant and Rego.
It has been a trouble-free bike that has combined practicality with fun and will be missed but the time has come to move on to a bigger bike.
