    amcc 4 'choppa'

The last round of the AMCC series has finally been and gone its been a great series and I have learnt heaps along the way! Johnny Burkhart and I rolled up Sunday morning after making the most of the long weekend with Taupo on Friday and Saturday. We checked the forecasts and every forecast was for thunder storms but we were itching to ride whatever the day would bring, fortunately (apart from the slight drissle to make things interesting all day) the weather pretty much held out!

    Formula 2

    Race 1
I qualified 2nd behind Johnny so it was all on, when the flag dropped we both got a great jump it looked like Johnny would get the holeshot or whatever road racers call it but he missed a gear leaving the door wide open for me and a few others to shoot by. I have never really had to set the pace before so it was fun being out front, on lap 5 Nick O passed me into the hairpin but he sorta messed up the next few corners and left the door open for me to re take the lead which I was able to hold till the end

    Race 2
Johnny and I again got off to a good start, I followed Johnny for a few laps I tried a move into the hairpin and got by only to have him come up the inside to retake the lead. I got a good tow onto the front straight the next lap and got him back into turn 1 I managed to hold on to the lead again for the rest of the race but not without glimpses of a couple of suzukis of Johnny and Karl M it was such a close race

    Race 3
We all nearly crashed on warm up lap so was cancelled….

    Formula Auckland

    Race 1
I qualified 4th for the formula Auckland race so I was the only 600 on the front row which was going to be a good advantage all day. I got a great start 3rd untill the straight were I was promptly destroyed by Carey Brier and Ray Clee on there litre bikes! I had a cruzy race and rolled home 5th overall and 1st 600

    Race 2
Having the small advantage from the front row I got ahead of all the 600s and pretty much had it my own way but I could here the familia popping of Johnnys gixer coming from behind me and apparently he nearly beat me to the line but I just managed to take 4th and be the first 600 home

    Race 3
This had to be the best race of the day even though It was my worst finish! Johnny got off to a great start we were fairly close to the 1000s of Carey and Neil but again the 600s were left to settle with whatever placings were left. Johnny and I went back and forward a few times only to have Karl Morgan shoot by both of us, we all fought over 3rd place for the rest of the race there was some scary breaking and a one stage I forgot to let off the throttle missed my breaking point and nearly collected us all J na not that close but I did overshoot a little! I was trying every line but so was whoever was in front of me and we were all making our bikes rather wide! Any who Karl came out on top with Johnny then me for the final battle of the day!

There were a few restarts because of the slippery track and the crashes of Drew and David. I set my best personal lap time finally I have got into the 60s and I also won the series for the 600 class and im pretty sure I ended up 3rd for the formula Auckland class

You did well to keep it upright on the track, it seemed pretty slippery out there.

Shit dude, so in summary, you cleaned up!!!

Top effort breaking your PB on a day like that. Here was I thinking that the lap times would be slower than last round which was pretty much perfect conditions.

See you at the Vic Club rounds. You racing a 600 and a 1000 there?
