    Paint - Custom or original?

    Greetings,

My zxr was dropped by its previous owner, its scratched, has cracks and its got some sort of ugly rust protectant everywhere that looks like its been applied with a broom in the snow.

I have got the engine and electrics working mint, and a KB member has offered to do the plastic welding and maybe paint it for me.

So i am trying to figure out the best option for resale. Someone told me that a custom paint job says "i've been broken" to everyone and thus lowers the resale value, but then i can't be bothered spending the biiiig dollars on the kawasaki original decals.

Anyways, its a ZXR250a (1989), origonally black with gold decals and trim (brake disc, calipers, forks etc) and charcol stripes (see attached pic - not my bike but thats the basic colour scheme)

I am seriously thinking about a 555 blue with white decals and no stripes.

    What do you guys reckon?

The other half is painting her ZXR400 in the WSBK 08 PSG-1 Kawasaki team colours of Green with Black flag and white details. Then its to be flicked off too.
