    Scooter ride - Auckland

Just read the post about people going out and doing a decent long scooter ride down in Wellington, has any one done one or know where would be a nice ride for a 50cc around Auckland??

Just been on the magnetos site and think that it could all be a bit much for a little 50cc scoot.. would love to do that on a bigger scoot when the finances allow it.. would love to see a pack of scooters riding down the motorway way though..

Also i think really personal safety is up to the rider isnt it?? so that makes it optional (taking into account that you are going to H town)

Just thinking around 100km to start with would be a good start

The 50,s going to Hamilton go back roads as far as possible.
There is a 50's run down to Victoria battery (just short of waihi) next month, two day trip, should be a good run.
The runs above are test runs for the Central Plateau Scooter Challenge 26th March 2011 for the Child Cancer Foundation. North Island version of the southern one.

If you want a inner city run do a volcanoes loop, or just go places you would never bother in a car. riding out to watch bucket racing was another good little ride, I only did it once, I think the season has ended.

I've done a run out to Awhitu Lighthouse (Manukau Heads Road) from west Auck a couple of times its relatively easy.
Army bay at the tip of Whangaparaoa is another good one, just a bit tricky at Silverdale to the turn off.

There's scooter rides all the time.
There was one to New Plymouth a while ago. There's a few going to Taupo some time in February.
There were a few rode to the pub in Brown's Bay the other week.

    Happens all the time.
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.
