Well I did the Coro this week and nary a bike to be seen! And yes, it was a random spur of the moment thing ... I looked out towards the Coro from Maraetai and thought "hmmm wonder what the weather is like on the other side of the Coro..."

Have a good ride you lot! And yeah, I saw heaps of classic rods and cars on the roads out Whangamata/Waihi ... all gearing up and travelling in packs for this event!

The Whangamata Beach Hop is this weekend- this means litrally HUNDREDS of hot rods and classic cars on the peninsula roads and Whangamata itself is chocka! But well worth a look.

Also the Kopu-Hikuia section is full of grotty roadworks with a hell rough surface all the way down the hill.for about 6 km

I would strongly recomend that you go through Waihi and the gorge and Paeroa - give me a rev as you pass my place on the Whanga side of Waihi

I will have my old classic Fire Engine parked outside for sale
Yea , I saw the hot rods yestrday coz i ended up doing a wet coro loop by myself to test my new waterproof gloves, which are a miracle by the way. Will definately be taking a camera and a stop at whangamata at least for 5 min to take a picture witha nice hot road is a must.

I know about the road words but it is very nice of you to mention it. I was planning on the whole loop trough the gorge and the whole experience. Will be looking for that fire engine in waihi - how much do you want for it ? Will give you a revv if we see it

Also the road leading to kopu has some road works so we will be taking miranda on the way to kopu.

Thanks alot for the heads up brother, will be looking for the fire engine. May even stop for a photo with the fire engine

Will give you a good rev mate, doubt you'll hear it tho!
The roadworks weren't too bad when we cut from Tairua to Kopu a week or two back, just a couple of patches down the hill. (Unless they have they ripped up more?) Thanks for the heads up tho mate!

It's amazing what a difference a good chain makes!!! NO driveline lash when i go from engine braking to full gas, or from accelerating chop the throttle to engine brake. She is a whole different bike! Bring on the twisties!!!
Also found the adjustment i was looking for on my clutch, can adjust the angle of the lever without adjusting the friction point, perfect! Now i can reach the clutch next time i 12 O'Clock her!

Oh, and for those on Ginny's with stock chains, replace it as soon as you can!!! I knew it was bad, but was shocked at just how bad... Fed on the new chain, and the rust and kak that fell off the sprocket from the old chain (frequently cleaned too) was unbelievable... But the scariest thing? lay the old chain down on the ground, and bend it sideways (i,e, 90° to how it bends as it goes round the sprocket). it bend over 180°!!!! FOOK! tried that with the new chain... 0° bend... Now that's what a chain should be. Those chains constantly stretch and need adjustment for a reason guys, they're utter shit. Bike mechanic mate of mine couldn't believe that old one had held as long as it did with how i ride

Right, time for one more beer (Yeah Right...) and bed. Catch you fellas at the gassie in the morn!
Hm... how much did a new chain set you back?
Oh and a quick update: Speedo is offically non-bodge-job-able, going to go get myself a 2nd hand one (atomic wreckers) and see how that goes.
