The Sulky Spaniard is as quick as anybody on Michelins, some times quicker, sometimes a bit too quick.

To tha ignoramus that I am, I reckon the tyre 'thing' is a bit of a crock. Like life, ya win some and ya lose some. Like you ride on what ya got. (With a bit of help from your engineers.)

Yeah, I'll say it - Stoner woulda scored as many points on the Mitchs as he has on the Bridges.

I respect Rossi a lot - but he lost a bit of that when he tossed the toys and the Michelins outa the cot.

Can anyone explain to me why the hell would Bridgestone say "no" to Rossi when he asked if he could also have their tyres??!!
The story that they said no to him must be a crock of shit...

How 'bout the fact that they (Bridgestone) already had the world champion (Stoner) riding for them...they had Suzuki, Ducati, Kawasaki and some satelite Honda teams using them. Why would they want (need) to bend over and supply Rossi (and Yamaha) tyres?

You obviously know more than us...so tell us all about it.

    Why?

Don't think This Poll: voting has a lot to do with logic.

    Or does it??

The other thing is...for Bridgestone...if Rossi had stayed on Michelin...makes them (the tryes) look pretty good if you beat 'The Man' himself dunnit!

How many championships have Michelin won in the premier class over the past 20 years compared to Bridgestone? (and Dunlop - and those were down to Rainey). Rossi could have shown some faith.
Hopefully Michelin will have the best tyre over the next couple of seasons and Rossi will be left high and dry.

Changing the subject slightly, I finally watched the Sahsenring race last night (those all-wet races are very interesting) and I hope Toni Elias gets a good talking-to from the Race Director. First he obstructed Rossi and got a well-deserved reprimand, then he loitered in front of Vermuelen and, if things had been slightly different, could have denied him a podium. Hasn't he read the rule that says lapped riders have to get the fuck out of the way?

Rossi also moved on from Honda to Yamaha because it suited him. He obviously had his reasons.
He's a different creature, I have several books on him.

Edge of the seat stuff for me monday morn. Gaz.

I asked a question, not a statement that I knew more than you.
Still regardless of what you say, WHY wouldn't they still NOT want Rossi?!

See above. They already had (have) the current world champion, and the bragging rights that go with that.

    What more do you need.

Dennis Noyes has a good insight into MotoGP matters. And here he discusses the current scene and also comments on the high number of 'offs' since they shrunk the motors.

"While every MotoGP rider I have talked to agrees the 800s are faster around a racetrack, they still regret the change to 800s. Casey Stoner's comment is typical: “If we were going to change the displacement we should have gone to 1200cc instead of 800cc.”
It's OK to disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.
