for those clever enough to check before leaving:

(sorry i'm a bit late with this)

WHERE: CORO LOOP! a loop of the coromandel peninsula, anticlockwise, with a detour through twilight road to kaiauia there and if time allows, miranda backroads on the way back.
HOW: meet at uni gym at 9am, leaving the port caltex 10am at the latest. we will stop by BP botany on our way out. finish up back at uni about 5 or 6pm.

there will be open road riding, alot of corners, the inevitable roadworks, about 450km of gas/rubber burning action, and should take the group about 7 hours provided everyone keeps upright and we don't stop too often - let's try to do it in less that 6

There will be the usual pre-ride inspection to hopefully prevent avoidable damage/accidents and helmet/gloves/jacket are obviously a must.
so meet at uni, leave 10am AT THE LATEST, head to botany, fill up tanks/tyres then blast off down twilight road to clevedon, then on to kaiuia and maybe stop there briefly for food. after that the next stop is kopu, hopefully by noon, where we can top up our tanks. then we head SOUTH and turn left onto the road up kopu hill which takes us over the coromandel and then we turn north to go thru tairua, coro glen, and will stop in whitianga for gas/air/wait for slow pokes. next stop is coromandel town, then we head south along the coast thru thames to kopu for more gas.

trip home will be via some backroads to break the monotony of the highway. these are nice twisties. the "other" backroad we did on thursday was a bloody straight line ffs!

if you aren't at uni by at 9:30 and havn't sent a txt i suggest you go straight to kopu to head us off. 9:30 we will leave unless otherwise notified. will stop by caltex only for those who can't make it to botany without running out of gas. my number is 0274054213

THE PACE: myself i have sufficient demerit points and enough brain cells to know that travelling fast in a straight line is neither clever nor difficult. i don't intend to exceed 120kph at any point, but remember passing on straights just means you'll hold me up in the twisties and have to stand around waiting for all the slower riders to catch up. there will be no scenic lookouts unless you crash into one. we have A LOT of ground to cover in a fairly short day

RAIN: slow the fuck down and HTFU. we've already had a bin there this week, and big surprise it was about 5 minutes after it started raining

furthermore, expect police: it's a sunny weekend and they've had well over a month to find and follow this thread

We have been riding non stop today thus only limited amount of pictures been taken....good to see Todd trying to keep up with the blade....you know you want a CBR1000 very comfy for you and your missuses - buy one. Pretty impress with the transformers Z1000's power and speed (belongs to Heath). The Hornet of Macstar damn makes my Yoshi so quiet - I need a louder exhaust...

Cheers fellas for another eventful ride! That new Blade is sexual Kylong, I'd love to have my way with it...

BTW re exhaust: Now when I take a pillion for the first time on the Hornet, I say "wear some boots, jeans, a warm jersey" and, "do you have any ear plugs?" - seriously!

Had a heart attack on the Southern Motorway when an undercover cop came up behind me in the LEFT LANE with his disco lights on. I ignored him for 500m foolishly hoping he might give up and let me ride away... but no he was persistent, so I pulled onto the shoulder and then he kept going past me?!

Anyway, 1km up the motorway it all made sense, there had been an accident and he was trying to close off the left lane.

I bought a V1 this weekend and can't wait to get it fitted!

Yeah I have been hearing that sexy sexual word all week from mates looking at my blade but seriously the ZX10-R was better....Haha I always pinch loads of ear plugs from a dispenser in the mechanical engineering lab. freee

I saw the undercover cop too attending to the giant truck...so when you get your V1 I'll be following you on all the rides...

The blade does turn you on eh???

    Haha,

You're pillion, for her first time on a bike, didn't look like all that bad a pillion..

She had that problem of leaning to one side trying to see what's happening infront of her, but she leaned the right way in the corners..

    Got yourself a keeper there
