Manawatu weekend rides

will edit this post with info but at this stage Ashhurst mobil at 10 leaving 10.30 sunday .. going to check out a few roads & end up back at the waterford cafe for late lunch ..

Not sure on the condition of the roads or where they actually lead too but that will be part of the adventure

general ride we are going on (hope this works) map here

Weather is looking minta for sunday too

current plan is:

brief stop at taihape for coffee (and gas if needed) and to shoot some shit
possible stop in turangi for Al (and gas if needed) and to shoot some more shit
stop in taupo for lunch (and gas if needed) and to shoot the shit
stop in napier or thereabouts for gas if needed and to shoot the last of the shit
probably stop somewhere else on the last leg home to see if we can find any more shit to shoot, etc

just the usual...

I guess meet 8:45-9am at Ashhurst and sod off asap after that

I figure we don't arse around too much in Ashhurst, if people aren't there by shortly after 9, we sod off, head for Taihape for coffee (and pie), anyone can catch us there if they're running a bit late

Planning a decent ride as "practice" for the GC. Will be riding in the same way we attack the GC - 1,000km distance with 3 short stops, not a race, may plan later start time so get in some night riding. Tentative date is 13th Sept and have a route in mind (includes nasty little back roads as per GC). More soon...

Will start another thread/calendar dohickey when firmed things up a bit.

Right-o then, this is me trying again.

Since last weekend (despite the metvuw website saying it was'nt going to be too bad) was a wash out....literally.
Anyone care for a wee ride this weekend? I was thinking maybe look at around the 300km mark give or take a 100 or so. Just enough to satisfy the need.
I realize that the dinner is on saturday though but that does'nt mean one could'nt get a leg over (the bike) for a wee pootle.

True true, was hoping Anthony might join us for a spin but I guess he'll just have to sort himself out wether he comes on the ride or not.
Mind you i'd be keen to ride sunday too actually, bring on the awesome weather!
