I informed our Masterton Ulysses Club about the ride, members have been emailed about it, and it was announced at last night's meeting.

We look forward to seeing everyone in PNth.

Chanceyy great job with organising this!! Hope to be there, and drag a few others along as well.

In case any of this helps...

Suggest you list the event on www.silverbullet.co.nz

You could try getting a local radio station on board with a bit of publicity seeing as it's for a great cause.

Also contact the local Manawatu paper, they would be mad not to cover it - contact them very soon so they have it on their calendar.

If you are still looking for vests, Uncle Bill's in Porirua have had them (I haven't been in there for a few months) - yellow with reflective strips and velcro to do up. They cost less than $5 each and we used these for a while (and the velcro do-up is fine) till we got ones at the Coast to Coast ride.

Regarding wearing vests, are you wanting only the helpers to wear them? Not trying to be a nana here but I know a few people that always wear vests (believe it or not) and would not be very happy if told to take them off....from a safety/visibility point of view. I don't know how the organisers managed on the Coast to Coast with hundreds of people wearing vests of varying types!

will check this out tonite when i am home ... err maybe tomorrow nite since i have a full nite doing stuff before the weather packs it in ..

already thought of this & just waiting for press release from mom & maha then I will follow up ..

good point - will look into this next week as well

quite a few of us already have vests from the coast to coast ride where ACC was handing them out ..

have stickers that will hopefully identify who the marshalls on this ride is .. along with that most of us know each other & we will have a meeting just prior to sort out jobs & marshalling on the day ...

Thanks for your hints & tips Mazz .. its an interesting exercise for sure ..

I have printed a heap of forms & have ppl at work signing them .. only about 160 staff here ..

also just got off the phone with Jarrod (pilot) and he is organising the safety plan for the council and as long as the chopper is not on a call out it will be down at the square, I have also breifed him on the route so we will prob have the chopper fly overhead as we make our way back. He also has direct contact with the radio network to get them on board as soon as I send the info to him, and a heap of media contacts via email ...

Letter to the police is almost complete just getting one of my colleagues to proof read it & that will be sent by tomorrow ..

next week will be gathering info for the media releases that will take place just after queens birthday weekend

and I hope to organise a shift swap as I am suppose to work that sat Speaking of work a couple of friends have offered their assistance on the day (blardy awesome) doing jobs at Turnbull's and sqaure so it looks like we are picking up momentum here

ohh yeah I have also been thinking after the ride that day I will prob need a stiff drink or 50 : so might have to stay in palmy overnite (hint hint Carmen) so shall we have a bbq to finish of the aft for the volunteers & marshalls ?? or head to a cafe or something .. ideas crew ??

Saying nothing !! Or you will have me cooking the blaaardy BBQ !

Any Stunt riders around our parts that might like to perform in an organised event somewhere ? that'd be a drawcard !

I be fine now...LOL Not at work today, just cruising at home nice and warm.

The forms just need to be filled out properly. I started a thread on the petition

It is actually going well. I used to do data entry a few years back, seems the trusty fingers still remember where the numbers are after all these years.

Although I may or may not be partial to a wheelie or two on occasion this is not one of those occasions........

Wheeling round the square while smoking a ciggy would be a health and safety issue?

    Sucks to be you...LOL

I have you in my sights now

Why not consider organising something after this ride, to bring people together to keep this bandwagon on the road. Time and place and all that stuff!
