Yeah, thats also my riding style, so what?
I'm a ham-fisted throttle jockey on the straights, and a handbag carting sissy boy in the corners. Thats all my skill allows for at the moment, so why the hell should I try be something I'm not and get myself killed? Did the guy you saw going to Raglan stop, and tell you how good he was at riding? Or, was he just riding and you assumed he was trying to be a bad ass? I think he may have just been out for an enjoyable ride, and why the hell not.

I respect people more skilled than me, but not the ones who rub it in my face, and tell me how crap I am. At one stage, you were learning too, and from what I've deduced, you will still be learning everytime you go riding, it's just the nature of it.

You`re right in what you say, seems to me that a lot of the guys here equate good riding with going as quickly as possible on the road, probably why so many of them seem to fall off.Racing is for race-tracks,if you`re good at it there then yeah you`re a skilled rider.Do it on the road with no regard to the law or what might just be round the corner and it`s not big, clever or skillful it`s just a quick way to get yourself banned or hurt yourself or someone else.Ignore the jibes StoneChucker, concentrate on making your riding smooth and safe before you try to go faster,if someone goes flying past you and they really think that makes them somehow better than you then it`s for them to sort out their low self-esteem problem rather than for you to think you`re a crap rider.Crap riders are usually the ones who think they know it all, they`re usually just too arrogant to realise it,they fall off or the Police nab them and it`s always someone else`s fault.(speed camera, road surface e.t.c.)

    just to add,
the 03 gsxr1000 is almost identical to the 04 with the exception of different brake pads & graphics. it has heavier duty suspension(springs) than the 01-02 model. the dumbest thing about them is the tiny white programmable shift light on the dash, the reserve will run to around 70kms if you're desperate & ride at 80kmh 8-). the worst thing about them is having every dick with stars in their eyes trying to prove themselves.

Have brought 2 new bit's to make the GSXR go abit better . K/N filter &
a TRE 002 {Timimg Retarder Eliminator } Tells the bike it is in 3rd gear so as to get full HP in 1st & 2nd gear which it doesn't let you have standard , Retard's the timing .Can't have that !! Plus it take's out the 300k Limiter as well . Will post Report on these once they get here next week Looking forward to see what the TRE is like .

I have done the TRE (50cent resistor from dick smith)on the TLR & it made a big difference In the lower gears.
Couldnt tell you how much difference it made on its own,I had it remapped & removed the flapper valves from the airbox at the same time.

the word is that the K&N gives no performance gain but is washable which means you save money in the long term. for an improvement in performance the BMC Race filter is the way to go except that it doesn't filter as well as stock. i'd be interested to hear about the effect of the TRE on the thou, i've used it on the 750 with marginal results.

something i heard recently was that the k4thou has a different shock to the k3. supposedly it's not better just different???

Not entirely accurate. You need to alter the fueling to reap the benefits of increased airflow.

Got 2hp extra from K/N in my GSXR 1100 with no jetting just put it in & 140HP from 138HP then we started to play with stuff . Will take new bike down to Brain Bernards & see what it will do on the Dyno . Did 150 RWHP Stock standard 1000k on the clock , so now has Tri oval pipe , K/N filter, high power ECU , Timing Eliminator .

The Gixxer 'thou' is on my list of bikes I really want to take a ride of, but never have. Not a quick ride up and down the road either mind you, but a long ride with loads of twisties and the occasional long straight bit.

I seriously considered buying one last year, but that bloody colour scheme put me right off. Don't Suzuki have any imagination?

The '05 model is gorgeous, having finally sorted out the only really ugly bit of the bike, it's arse end.

Suzuki is the only brand of bike I've never owned. Although the Busa did make it to my top three of my last short list of bikes to buy.
