Mostly happy. The people I work with are good (the boss can be a bit indecisive though, maybe not the best manager). The work is a nice balance between stressful and boring , most of the work (setting up programs to run on the turret punch and then loading the tools and running the machine) keeps my mind busy, so the days often go quickly.
It's my first proper job after leaving uni, I've been there a little over a year now. I regularly experience monday-itis, but usually tuesday is a bit better and wednesday better still (if only because the week is half gone already ).

When we give bonuses (bonii?) at work we gross them up so the person actually gets the amount we say - in the hand, ie, if we tell someone they're getting a $500 bonus we may finish up paying about $800 before tax depending on annual earnings, student loan and kiwisaver. That way they get in the hand the true measure of our appreciation for whatever they've done. Costs us a bit more but hey, it all goes towards our staff turnover figure of 15% in an industry where over 30% is the norm.

I love my job. Yesterday, I played around on the computer for an hour, helped a student cook bacon, eggs, hash browns and tomatoes which we than sat down to eat, went for a walk to the park, fed the ducks, watched the little kids play, went to a cafe and had coffee and yummy muffins, back to work in time for lunch, another hour on the computer playing and then home.
    Pity about the pay though!

    Thumbs up

Yup, finally doing what I'm supposed to do.
My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog already thinks I am.
