    Great work ++++

I would have started by shoving my mobile in her face and taking a photo. When she indignantly asks wtf then launch into her and finish by telling her the photo is for when you report her behaviour through the Police website. Of course the cops won't give a shit about parking but she'll crap herself at the thought of the Police getting involved.

hahahaa - I do have her number plate and could give a pretty vivid description....

BUT I won't - cos all in all deep deep down somewhere I like to think I'm kinda a lady...

But lets just say that this was in Johnsonville at the Woolworths and she was driving a blue station wagon with car seats that had blue paw prints on them.

So if you know her...give her that slap I wish I had given her earlier

Disabled parks? (When not being used by 'disabled' peoples who seem perfectly able yet have an orange "Park wherever the fark I like" card).
    Special parent parks? :spudwhat:

We managed for years with three chitlins, one of whom is autistic, and never felt the need to park right next to the doors. Maybe we never saw parenthood as some kinda disablement. ANd making the little buggers walk a few hundred extra metres helped to burn off some of the mischieviousness.

    I don't really get it...
Having been in a wheelchair, I do get it. I admit that the requirements for a disability card are more generous than is optimal, but as long as a car displays a current - I've seen some lowlife's using old out of date ones - I leave them alone.

Actually, when I have reported this abuse I have found the cops were interested and asked for numberplate details so that they could follow it up.

That's great to hear. Have you ever had any joy through the online reporting though? http://www.police.govt.nz/service/road/roadwatch.html

    Nice one.
However that being said i know now that you just ring a towing company.
I had this issue on my last apartment. Nothing like having a beer and watch some prick dance in front of the towwy cos he was in the wrong park.
He was Chinese too, it made it that much more funnier for me (but the misses had to translate the curse words for me).

Kids can move like lightening and while I only have one to look out for it can be quite tricky getting him out of the car and safely across the road with cars everywhere...and some stupid people travel quite quickly in these carparks too!

I can imagine the stress for parents of juggling a baby capsule and two littlies under five safely in these areas.
    Fairy Nuff.

As far as the "does that person really qualify for an speshul orange card thing" goes - my father-in-law (who died a couple of weeks back) had very severe emphysema, and at times couldn't walk more'n about 20m, with a trundler for support. However, it amuses/bemuses me at shopping malls when supposedly disabled people park near the door, then spend a few hours walking around the mall, mebbe doing a few km in their travels. The supermarket I get: they've got a trundler to lean on for support. Parking near a shop/office that they go into, then park themselves, it makes sense. But I guess that for some people, 'disability' is a convenience or state of mind, IMHO.

I'll be there soon enough: already mentally disabled, and my body's working on fucking itself up. Bring on the Special Orange Card! Woohoo, and all that! Nah - fuckit! When I'm decrepit, I'll eschew the special parks and just park my (outriggered) bike on the footpath.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Never used it actually, I just went straight around to the station and asked if they had anyone who could pop around and speak to the driver. Sometimes they did and sometimes they took all the details for followup. But I never got the impression they weren't really interested, they always came across as pro-active. I know they get a lot of complaints and I applauded the media when they'd do a feature and get these people on TV!

Nice I retract my comment about the police not being concerned about parking although I'm sure turning up in person helps.

I like avgas' preference for calling a towing company. Very nasty indeed!

Always interesting .. .what a read. I agree with you and your actions ... and am always annoyed when people abuse the parks reserved for others.

I have a disability card .. I don't abuse it, but use it when I need it ... I look perfectly able and all that .. but would swap my disease for someone elses carpark on the other side of the lot any bloody day!

My most common expression to others using parks without showing the card is "oh don't forget to put your card down" and I leave it at that, with mine in the window. Its normally enough to get the point across.
