Check the state of your battery. Not sure how old yours is but it may have not been that flash to start with and a knock sometimes kills them off. Also since it's getting cold a marginal battery will start to strugle.

Not much to go wrong with it, just ride it for a wee bit. Use the choke to start it, then go for a wee ride, gas up, then see what happens after that

Hey man, nice to meet you yesterday(I was that asian guy at the back of Squiggle's TL)

Did you go to Cycletreads to change tyres? If so how much were they and how long did it take?

And have you had a look around handle bars? I think I'll go for that black one if I can't find anything else eh.

I think the choke will work, coz I did ride mine a wee bit on that day, then needed choke to start (Squiggle's suggestion ofcource )

Yo sup! Umm na i walked to gas station with a container and put the gas in as i just couldnt get it to start using choke or revving as i did it or anything. It just continuously make the "ring ding ding ding" (man, awful description i know =D) sound. Na i didn't change tyres yet as I'm just trying to sort this out atm, worst comes to worst I'm gonna take it to a mechanic. Could anyone recommend one on the North Shore if i do? And any chance anyone knows a link for a gn250 owners manual (not the service one). I just cant seem to find one on teh googles or here Any more ideas on what i could do myself? haha

Oh and i have tried starting my bike quite a few times in the last week. Is it possible that it is the battery not giving enough juice or would the sound the engine or whatever makes when i hold electric start down dismiss that? My light and indicators function when i put them on if thats relevant.

I might try charging it as soon as i get the seat off haha

Although taking the seat off is quite easy you don't have to bother. Just take the right side cover off, the battery is behind it.

Quite possible -- you hear about this happening with electric start bikes, they have enough juice to turn the bike over, but not enough juice to give a big fat spark at the same time. Plus, now, the plug might be a bit dirty from all that turning over and no firing.

Give the batt a go on the charger, not too long, especially if its a car one

And while you're at it, get out with the cable ties and cable tie the sidecover on when you're done. They are incredibly good at flying away, never to be seen again. Sidecover just pops out when you pull on it.
